  • Patent number: 8016119
Abstract: In an apparatus for separating plastic film material from waste, a plurality of hooks is mounted on a hook carrier for circulating the hooks along a trajectory through an engagement area near a supply track and through a disengagement area downstream of the engagement area. The engagement area is located higher than the supply track and/or in supply direction beyond the downstream end of the supply track, such that, in operation, a remainder of the waste passes by the trajectory of the hooks without contacting the hooks. The hooks project from the drum via openings in the circumferential surface of the drum and are retractable into a circumferential surface of the drum. A method for separating plastic film material from waste is also described.

  • Patent number: 7690402
Abstract: For tying wire material around a bale, a pair of end portions of the loop is held in a substantially mutually parallel orientation. An engaged section of at least one of the end portions is moved about a longitudinal axis of the other end portion of that pair, such that the pair of end portions is twisted into a wire twist between an engagement area and a portion of the loop extending about the bale. During twisting, wire material of at least one of the end portions slips through the engagement area towards the portion of the loop extending about the bale. An implement and twisters for use in such a method are also described.

  • Publication number: 20070208455
Abstract: For sorting items out of waste material, a system is provided including a conveyor for transporting waste material, a detector for identifying and locating items of the waste material on the conveyor, at least one depositing area along the conveyor, at least one robot along the conveyor; and a control circuitry communicating with the detector and with the robots. The control circuitry is arranged for controlling the robot or at least one of the robots to pick-up located items of the waste material on the conveyor and to deposit picked-up items at the at least one depositing area. A method for sorting items out of waste material is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6702104
Abstract: A conveyor for conveying bulk material includes a conveyor loop (2) having an upper section forming a transport deck (5) extending along a transport path and a lower return section. The conveyor loop (2) includes an array of pins (7) and connections (8, 9) interconnecting the pins (7) and an array of carrier beams (10) each extending transverse to the array of pins (7) and connections (8, 9). A side barrier (11) above and along a side of the transport deck (5) for restraining bulk material from moving laterally off the is formed by an array of side barrier plates (24; 124). The side barrier plates (24; 124) are each fixedly connected relative to axes (35) of a pair of the pins (7). Leading and trailing ends (36) of successive side barrier plates (24; 124) are in at least close proximity of each other.

  • Patent number: 5832815
Abstract: During the pressing of bales in a baler, a portion of a press channel in front of a retracted press ram is in each case completely filled with material to be compacted. During compacting, the pressure forces exerted on the press ram have a resultant which intersects the side of the press ram directed in pressing direction below the center thereof or below the center of the press channel section at the location of that side of the press ram. The press ram shows less tendency to tilt, as a consequence of which the press ram guide is less loaded and less friction occurs between the press ram and the press channel. As a result, the bale is compressed more properly and the press ram guide wears less.

  • Patent number: 5341937
Abstract: An apparatus for separating recyclable waste which has a conveyor belt transport track, collecting belt under a section of the transport track, and belt guides positioned along a section of the transport track. The conveyor belt is provided with openings and mutually contacting surfaces of the conveyor belt and the belt guides are profiled such that movement of the conveyor belt along the transport track causes a portion of the belt passing the guides to shake in a direction substantially transverse to the transport track.

  • Patent number: 5255597
Abstract: Wire catch for a baler comprising an elongated wire catch body having between a fixed end and a free end thereof a recess in which is suspended a wheel. The axis of rotation of the wheel is directed substantially transverse to the centerline of the wire catch body. The recess comprises a first guide surface adjoining a circumferential portion of the wheel that faces the fixed end. A second guide surface is provided opposite the first guide surface, which second surface converges towards the first guide surface in the direction of the free end of the wire catch body. According to the invention, the second guide surface is constituted by a portion, located remote from the first guide surface, of the circumferential portion of the wheel that faces the fixed end. The invention prevents the space between the first and the second guide surfaces from becoming clogged with compressed material.
