Abstract: A method for processing a stream of data represented by a plurality of symbols associated with a constellation. The method includes applying a symbol constellation extension projection to at least one of the plurality of symbols, the symbol constellation extension projection having an outward angular region, the outward angular region defined by a value of an angle, and the value of the angle equal to or less than an angular distance between two symbols in the constellation. The value of the angle is based on a constellation and a code rate used for encoding and transmitting the stream of data.

Abstract: Chroma enhancement filtering may be used in high dynamic range (HDR) video. A video coding device may identify a characteristic within a picture of a video signal. The characteristic may include a spatial region, a color, a luminance, or an edge direction. The video coding device may determine a sample set that includes one or more samples associated with the characteristic. The video coding device may generate a cross-plane filter based on the characteristic and the sample set. The cross-plane filter may include a high pass filter. The video coding device may apply the cross-plane filter to a luma plane component of a sample in the sample set to determine an offset. The video coding device may add the offset to a reconstructed chroma plane component of the sample that corresponds to the luma plane component.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for control-point based intra mode for coding a video bitstream. In an exemplary embodiment, at least two control points in a picture are selected. The control points may be, for example, points at or adjacent to two or more corners of a current block. For each of the control points, an associated intra prediction direction is identified. The intra prediction directions may be encoded in the bitstream, e.g. using differential coding. A derived intra prediction direction is interpolated based on a position of a pixel (or of a block) relative to the control points, and the derived intra prediction direction is used to predict one or more samples in the video. Different interpolation techniques, such as triangular interpolation or bilinear interpolation may be used.

Abstract: A method for processing a transport command at a local content controller to control the playback of shared content in synchrony with other, remote content controllers commences by first determining whether a received transport command originated from the local content controller or from at least one remote content controller. In the event of a locally originated transport command, the local content controller will prioritize the locally originated transport command with recently received transport commands. Thereafter, the local controller will transmit the locally originated transport command to at least one remote content controller for execution thereby if the locally originated transport command has priority. In the event of a remotely originated transport command, the local controller will prioritize the remotely originated transport command with recently received transport commands and then execute the prioritized transport commands in accordance with the latency between content controllers.

Abstract: An animal monitoring station comprises a housing, a bait receptacle, a camera, a scale, and a grid. The housing comprises a chamber; and at least one port configured to allow an animal: free ingress to the chamber; and free egress to the chamber. The bait receptacle is disposed inside the chamber. The camera is disposed in the chamber. The scale is disposed in a field of view of the camera. A grid is disposed in the field of view.
Abstract: The inventive subject matter relates to compounds of Formula I and Formula II, compositions thereof, and processes for making such compounds as presently claimed and further described herein. The inventive compounds and compositions have antimicrobial properties and are useful as environmental disinfectants, topical cleansers such as topical personal care compositions, sanitizers, preservatives, in water treatment, as permanent or erodible coatings for medical devices and appliances, and in therapeutics.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for rendering a contiguous virtual space for a plurality of display devices. An embodiment operates by identifying a projection of a virtual camera onto a virtual plane and determining a display plane area based on an intersection of the projection of the virtual camera onto the virtual plane. Thereafter, a position for a plurality of virtual windows correlating to a plurality of real-world display devices on the display plane area is calculated based on (i) properties of the display devices and (ii) a focal length of the virtual camera. After placing the virtual windows their respective display plane area positions, content behind a virtual window is identified and provided to the corresponding real-world display device.
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for processing a signal that is transmitted with a reduced peak to average power ratio are described. The processing includes applying (1650) a symbol constellation extension projection to at least one symbol in the constellation, the symbol constellation extension projection having an outward angular region from an original position for the at least one symbol in the constellation, the outward angular region defined by a value for an angle between a first boundary and a second boundary for the outward angular region, the value for the angle determined by a selection of the constellation used as part of the transmitted signal and a code rate used for encoding the stream of data.

Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for providing real-time alerts regarding the status of agricultural infrastructure resources, which may be stationary and/or mobile, such as water level, water temperature, trough, water pump, drone, and livestock that are equipped with sensors. The system adaptively aggregates and processes the sensed data from multiple resources and animals using low cost readily available wireless local network and sends an alert cost effectively using various messaging methods, such as SMS, MMS, PSTN, VoIP, HTTP, and HTTPS, over various wireless communications networks, such as cellular, satellite, or UHF, depending on availability, cost and quality of service.
Abstract: Cross-plane filtering may be used to restore blurred edges and/or textures in one or both chroma planes using information from a corresponding luma plane. Adaptive cross-plane filters may be implemented. Cross-plane filter coefficients may be quantized and/or signaled such that overhead in a bitstream minimizes performance degradation. Cross-plane filtering may be applied to select regions of a video image (e.g., to edge areas). Cross-plane filters may be implemented in single-layer video coding systems and/or multi-layer video coding systems.
