Abstract: An absolute angular sensor of a steering system for vehicles, which includes a power supply for supplying power, a pulse supply for generating pulses, a linear variable displacement transducer operated by a pulse outputted from the pulse generator for sensing a variable displacement of a rotator disc mounted at a steering shaft when the steering shaft operates, and outputting a signal in proportion to the sensed rotation displacement, a demodulator for demodulating the outputted signal from the linear variable displacement transducer, a DC (Direct Current) amplifier for amplifying the rectified external displacement from the demodulator into a certain level, and a DC output part for providing a signal output amplified by the DC amplifier, whereby it is possible to sense an absolute position accurately and an absolute angle of the steering shaft accurately.
Abstract: An anti-lock brake system includes a wheel cylinder, a master cylinder for supplying brake pressure to the wheel cylinder, a modulator having a fluid intake passage communicating with the master cylinder and a fluid exhaust passage communicating with the wheel cylinder, and a solenoid valve mounted within the modulator to control hydraulic pressure supplied from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinder.
Abstract: A solenoid valve for an anti-lock brake system is disclosed in which two orifices and oil passages are formed utilizing a valve seat and a piston. The solenoid valve includes a magnetic core (130) mounted in a bore (101) formed on a modulator (100), a plunger (140) movably mounted in the magnetic core (130), a valve seat (150) disposed below the magnetic core (130) in the bore (101), and a piston (200) movably mounted at the periphery of the valve seat (150). The valve seat (150) has an invariable orifice (320) formed at the inner middle portion of the valve seat, an inlet and outlet passages (300) and (310) formed below and above the invariable orifice (320), respectively. The piston (200) has a variable orifice (340) formed passing through one side of the upper portion of the piston. A lip seal (400) is provided between the outer periphery of the piston (200).
Abstract: A solenoid valve for an anti-lock brake system is disclosed which has two orifices and oil passages formed a magnetic core so that at the slip mode the amount of hydraulic oil transmitted to a wheel sylinder can be varied, its structure is simplified and its manufacture is facilitated. The solenoid valve includes a magnetic core 130 inserted into a bore 101 in a modulator 100 which has an inlet and outlet passages 300 and 310 and an invariable orifice 320, a plunger 140 installed in the magnetic core 130, and a piston 200A installed in the inlet passage 300. The piston 200A has an eccentric hole 202 formed vertically passing through its interior and a groove 203 on its top surface, thus forming a variable orifice 340 along with a lower end of the invariable orifice 320. The magnetic core 130 has a through hole 330 formed slanting upward. A lip seal 400 is formed between the outer periphery of the magnetic core 130 and the bore 101.
Abstract: There is disclosed a solenoid-supporting device for an antilock brake system by which the vibration and noise created from solenoid valves are attenuated and the heat generated from the solenoid valves are effectively radiated. The solenoid-supporting device comprises: a base plate contacting the bottom surface of a modulator block; a plurality of penetration holes formed at the base plate in order that valve bodies pass through the penetration holes and are combined with solenoids; and a plurality of elastic members which are made by extending from the base plate around the respective penetration holes in order to urge the solenoids to the ECU housing.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a control system of an auxiliary power system for a hybrid electric vehicle in which a circuit of the control system of the auxiliary power system is constructed by a digital method. The control system has a function for monitoring a battery charging state and a function for controlling an engine at a constant speed. The auxiliary power system for a hybrid electric vehicle includes an engine, a generator, a battery, and a load. The control system includes a rectifier, a first shunt circuit, a smoothing circuit, a contactor, a main control circuit portion, an engine constant-speed control portion, an auxiliary battery, DC/DC converter, a battery charge voltage monitoring portion, a control state display portion, and a second shunt circuit.

Abstract: Disclosed is a braking system of an automobile, which can produce and store an electric power by means of the energy generated when the automobile is braked, thereby increasing efficiency in energy use, and simultaneously which can perform an anti-lock braking function and a traction control function. In the braking system, a master cylinder generates a hydraulic pressure when the brake pedal is pressed. A variably exhausting pump unit performs a pumping operation by the hydraulic pressure from the master cylinder. A control section senses a traveling state of the automobile and controls so that a proper braking force is applied to a wheel of the automobile. A flow control valve providing the variably exhausting pump unit with the braking force. A generating section generates electricity by means of a bypassed hydraulic pressure according to the order of the control section.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a suspension system for a vehicle. The system includes a wheel carrier rotatably supporting a wheel, a strut assembly connecting an upper end of the wheel carrier to a vehicle body, a lower control arm connecting a lower end of the wheel carrier to the vehicle body, and roll center control part for controlling a height of a roll center of the vehicle. The roll center control part includes a hydraulic source for generating hydraulic pressure, a hydraulic bushing disposed between the lower arm and the vehicle body, the hydraulic bushing having upper and lower chambers, first and second hydraulic control valves for controlling hydraulic pressure directed to or exhausted from the upper and lower chambers, respecively, whereby the hydraulic pressure is displaced upward and downward with respect to an axis of the vehicle body, and an electronic control unit for controlling the first and second hydraulic control valves in response to a driving state of the vehicle.
Abstract: A system and method of controlling a semiactive suspension is disclosed. The system and method effectively selects appropriate damping force curves for the dampers of the four wheels in accordance with both an output vertical acceleration signals from three vertical acceleration sensors installed on the dampers of three wheels and an output axle acceleration signal from an axle acceleration sensor installed on the axle. At the resonance frequency band of a car body, the system and method controls the suspension according to the vertical speeds and ride values, calculated from the vertical acceleration signals, thus reducing the uncomfortable riding effects of the vehicle. Meanwhile, at the resonance frequency band of the axle, the system and method controls the suspension with a higher damping force thus securing steering safety of the vehicle.
Abstract: A steering system of automobiles for absorbing impact force, which comprises a steering tube, connected to a steering handle, having a plurality of fixing openings for fixing balls therein; a steering shaft partially inserted into the steering tube and having a plurality of multi-stepped guide grooves for guiding the balls; and the balls positioned in the fixing openings of the steering tube. The guide grooves are adjacent to the fixing openings at one end and extended longitudinally for a predetermined distance, and the balls travel from the fixing openings into the multi-stepped guide grooves between the steering tube and the steering shaft, generating frictional force and absorbing impact force. Hence, the impact force is absorbed by the multi-stepped portions of the guide grooves and gradually transmitted to the driver from the beginning to the end of a collision to ensure the driver with enough time to react to the collision, thereby minimizing injury to the driver.
Abstract: A tilting and telescopic structure for steering columns. In the structure, one tilt lever performs the tilting and telescopic function of adjusting the tilting angle and the length of a steering column in accordance with the body size of a driver. In an embodiment, a serrated actuating lever is provided at the telescopic part cooperating with the tilt lever, thus simply operating the tilting and telescopic structure. In another embodiment, the structure has an adjusting nut and bolt cooperating with the tilt lever and has a slit at both the outer tube and the distance bracket, thus being simply operated by controlling the width of the slit by the tilt lever.

The housing includes a cylindrical coolant passage concentrically formed around the stator in the housing, and the front or rear cover includes a coolant inlet port through which coolant is fed to the coolant passage and a coolant outlet port through which coolant circulated the coolant passage is exhausted.
Abstract: A mass manufacturing method of semiconductor acceleration and vibration sensors uses a dispensing method, a electrical plating method, a screen-printing method or a preforming method in manufacturing a mass made of metal pastes in a desired size and amount on a mass pad of a thin metal film which is formed on a beam in a given pattern, so that it can be adapted to the mass-production of the sensors having the mass of the desired amount and size.

Abstract: An improved power supply apparatus for controlling electrical elements of a vehicle which is used for a vehicle using 12 volts as well as a vehicle using 24 volts. The apparatus includes a mode selection switching unit which is selectively switched in accordance with a voltage level inputted from a battery, a first voltage transformation unit, which is not operable when the mode selection switching unit is in the turned-on mode and is operable when the mode selection switching is in the turned-of mode, for dropping an input voltage from the battery to a predetermined level, and a second voltage transformation unit for dropping a voltage from the battery when the mode selection switching unit is in the turned-on mode and dropping an output voltage from the first voltage transformation unit to a predetermined level when the mode selection switching unit in the turned-off mode.
Abstract: An oil pressure supply valve for a traction control system, the structure of which is simple and small in size, that improves the function of the traction control system by securing enough flowing volume of the brake oil. The oil pressure supply valve includes: a body; internal passages connecting a master cylinder connection passage and a pump inlet connection passage that are formed perpendicular to each other in the body; a valve operating member including a valve seat for opening and closing the internal passages; a valve element having a ball valve which contacts or separates from the valve seat; a fixing screw member which is integrally formed with the valve element; and a spring supporting the valve operating member. Also, in the fixing screw member is formed an air passage through which air passes when the valve operating member moves up and down.
Abstract: A brake booster for vehicles prevents suction noise that is generated from a rapid inflow of air from being emitted to the outside. The brake booster includes a casing, a diaphragm mounted in the casing by which a constant-pressure chamber and a varying-pressure chamber are isolated from each other, a valve body one end of which is fixed to the inner surface of the diaphragm and the other end of which includes an air suction area, a poppet valve mounted in the valve body to connect or disconnect the varying-pressure chamber to the outside, an input shaft one end of which is arranged in the valve body to operate the poppet valve, an output shaft transmitting to a master cylinder the force boosted by the pressure difference between the constant-pressure chamber and the varying-pressure chamber, and a noise barrier mounted in the valve body.

Abstract: An operation condition detecting system for an automobile vehicle includes a fifth wheel rotatably connected to a shaft protruding downward from the bottom center of an automobile chassis. A first sensor is installed around the fifth wheel's axle to measure an actual vehicle velocity and a bar extending from the fifth wheel's axle is connected to the shaft. The system also includes a yawing sensor provided at one end of the bar near the shaft to measure a yaw motion of the automotive vehicle. The yawing sensor includes a light emitting element and a light-receiving element and cooperates with reflectors reflecting the light from the light emitting element onto the light receiving element.
