  • Patent number: 7507085
Abstract: A gas regulating fitting that, in addition to enabling an electronic ignition of the gas flow, also permits a manual ignition. A covering element (17) is displaceably mounted on the housing (1) of the gas regulating fitting and, in a first position, covers a tappet (10; 14), which is provided for actuating a thermoelectric ignition safety valve (26) and a main valve (19), and covers a control switch (13) of a piezoelectric igniting element. When the covering element (17) is in a second position, an actuation of the tappet (10; 14), which inevitably occurs when the covering element (17) is displaced, ensures that the main valve (19) is located in the closed position. In addition, the control switch (13) and the tappet (10, 14) are released in this position in such a manner that an ignition of the gas flow is made possible by a manual actuation thereof.

  • Patent number: 6892756
Abstract: There is to be created a gas flow monitoring device in which the adjustment/alteration of the reseat flow can also be made without the need of changes to its design, that is to say even after its manufacture. In particular, it should be possible to adjust the reseat flow at the time of its installation on site. To this end, the gas flow monitoring device consists of a gas-tight casing (1) with a valve seat (6) in its interior for a reseat body (14) that can freely move inside the casing (1). Said reseat body (14) is fastened to a pin (11) that is supported by bearings located in both the inlet guide (7) and the outlet guide (8). Said reseat body (14) is kept in open position by a reseat spring (16) that rests with its one end on the outlet guide (8) and with its other end on the reseat body (14) itself. At the inlet guide (7) there is arranged a spacer block (17) that acts as a stop point (18) for the reseat body (14) with the gas flow monitoring device in open position.

  • Patent number: 6796326
Abstract: A gas pressure regulator shall be created that shows reproducible features even at minimum through flow values, and at the same time allows keeping its lock up characteristic. In addition, gas burners operated at a large modulating range shall allow ignition as well, with the internal pressure drop being kept as low as possible. Also, manufacturing expenses and number of gasproof connections shall be kept at a minimum. To achieve this, the inlet-side chamber and the outlet-side chamber are connected to each other—in addition to the existing passage that is used for pressure regulating purposes—by one or more separate openings with each of such opening forming a seat for a closing body that is individually assigned to said opening and guided in axial direction to its seat, whereat each such closing body is connected to the armature of an solenoid valve assigned to it.

  • Patent number: 6550495
Abstract: A thermal safety device for cutting off gas pipelines, wherein gas transfer is prevented by the safety device when temperature increases in the section of the gas pipeline placed downstream from the safety device, especially when connected gas apparatuses are in a closed position maintains production costs and dimensions at a level as low as possible. The safety device includes a check valve which prevents backflow from the gas pipeline which is placed downstream from the device. The inventive device also includes a pressure sensitive element placed downstream from the safety device which is actuated by the pressure in the pipeline. The pressure sensitive element is coupled to a cut-off valve in such a way that when pressure increases in the downstream pipeline the valve prevents gas from flowing into the pipeline.

  • Patent number: 6308730
Abstract: A gas stream monitor shall be provided that facilitates the adjustment of the reseat flow. The gas stream monitor consists of a gas-tight casing whose interior is equipped with a seat for a reseat body that is movable inside the casing and is kept in open position against the flow direction by weight and/or spring force, in which the flow cross-section, surface area of the reseat body and the forces are determined in such a manner that gas stream monitor leaves its open position at a defined value of the reseat flow and is moved towards the seat of the casing, so that the gas conduit is closed in the shut position, and has outside the casing at least one manipulator to adjust the spring pre-tension and/or the stroke of the reseat body. The gas stream monitor serves to automatically shut off gas conduits upon the occurrence of an inadmissible flow increase due to, e.g. a damaged gas conduit or a defective consumer.

  • Patent number: 6279597
Abstract: Inside the casing (1), there are three or more ribs (8) arranged with their longitudinal axes parallel to the closing body's direction of movement when closing so that each rib forms a slide-way for the closing body (5) moving from open into closed position. Into each of these ribs there is cut a first groove (10) in which is placed a shaped part (11) that supports the closing spring (9). At least the ribs arranged approximately opposite to the tappet (20) have a second groove whose side facing the seat (7) forms a rest edge (18) on which the control edge may rest when the closing body is in open position. When the fusible soft solder component (21) is melting away, the tappet changes its position in axial direction under the force exercised by the closing spring. Due to this change of position, the control edge is no longer resting on the rest edge, and the closing body driven by the dosing spring switches over into its close position.

  • Patent number: 6029705
Abstract: A gas control valve is disclosed which enables a variable adjustment of the gas flows. Furthermore, a remote control may be utilized in conjunction with the gas control valve. The manufacturing expense and the size is kept at the lowest possible minimum. The main valve in the casing is followed by a switch which is known per se and equipped with a springy element and which, in conjunction with two valves, enables a modulating control with jerk-like on/off switching in the partial load range. This switch can be actuated by a tappet which is movable in longitudinal direction and projects beyond the gas-bearing casing to the outside and whose position can be changed by means of an operating element. The operating element can be actuated manually and/or via a driving unit in the form of an electrically driven motor coupled with a battery. The gas control valve for a gas-heated fireplace or similar installation serves the largest possible manipulation of the visible flames, in particular for decorative reasons.

  • Patent number: 6019119
Abstract: A thermal safety device is disclosed which, in the area of the closing element, has an uninterrupted circular cross section. Furthermore, the axial guiding of the closing element during the closing stroke is ensured. In the axial continuation of a seat located within the casing there is a guide pin. A closing spring is aligned on this guide pin, and, when taut, the spring is situated as far as possible inside a blind hole, with a throat acting as a control edge, inside the closing element. Under the influence of the closing spring, a ram forming a part of a detecting element, keeps the control edge adjacent to a clip-stop edge when the safety device is in the open position. Once the thermal solder element melts away, however, the resulting change in position of the ram allows the control edge to move away from the click-stop edge, so that the closing element, under the influence of the closing spring, moves into a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5950656
Abstract: The invention concerns a thermal safety fitting in which the closure motion of the obturator is longitudinal with respect to the obturator seat. The aim is to avoid lateral excursions of the obturator, while keeping manufacturing costs and structural size as low as possible. The obturator (12) is held in the open position in the housing (1) on the longitudinal axis of the obturator seat (28) by means of a generally U-shaped element (30). The two arms (9) of the U-shaped element (30) are located in the vicinity of a reduced-diameter section (17) of the obturator (12). The part (13) of the U-shaped element (30) joining the two arms (9) rests against a thermosolder (14). If the thermosolder (14) melts, the arms (9) no longer remain in the reduced-diameter section (17) owing to the change in the position of the U-shaped element (30), and the obturator (12) thus moves into the closed position under the action of a closing spring (24).

Abstract: The invention takes as a basis the problem of developing a thermo-electric safety igniter with a reignition lock on a gas valve combination which is suitable for using a rotary slide as main valve for the main gas flow and the pilot gas flow. The problem is solved in that a half-disc, whose ends are located in a notch, is arranged on part of the operating rod intruding into the housing chamber such that when the main valve is closed and the valve head of the safety igniter valve is in the open position, the ends of the half disc cooperate with the notch to prevent opening movement of the main valve. The hoop has a blade or tongue whose length is dimensioned such that the hoop ends are moved out of the notch when the igniter safety valve closes and the main valve remains closed. The invention refers to a thermo-electric safety igniter with a reignition lock on a gas valve combination for a gas heating furnace or similar for controlling the main gas flow and the pilot gas flow.
