Publication number: 20180310760Abstract: According to one example, a system includes a cooking device operable to be used to cook a food item. The cooking device includes one or more motion sensors operable to detect a motion associated with the cooking device. The system further includes a wireless device operable to display a cooking recipe in a graphical user interface. The system also includes a one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more motion sensors. The processors are operable, when executed, to receive one or more indications of a detected motion associated with the cooking device, and further operable to determine a device instruction based on the one or more indications. The wireless device is further operable to perform the determined device instruction.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2018Publication date: November 1, 2018Applicant: Meyer Intellectual Properties Ltd.Inventors: Jonathan A. Publication number: 20180242772Abstract: According to one example, a system comprises a plurality of cooking device systems that are each operable to be used in cooking a food item during a cooking process; a heat source system comprising a plurality of heat sources that are each operable to provide an amount of energy to be used to cook the food item; and a sensor operable to detect information associated with the cooking process. The system further comprises a processor operable to determine an identity of a first cooking device system and determine an identity of a first heat source. The processor is further operable to receive an indication of the detected information; determine whether there is an error in the cooking process based on the indication; and following a determination that there is an error in the cooking process, transmit an indication of the error in the cooking process.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2018Publication date: August 30, 2018Applicant: Meyer Intellectual Properties Ltd.Inventors: Jonathan A. Publication number: 20170231415Abstract: According to one example, a cookware apparatus includes a vessel. The vessel includes a bottom, and a sidewall surrounding the bottom and extending upward from the bottom so as to form a fluid retaining interior region. The sidewall terminates at a rim. The vessel also includes a channel extending through a portion of the bottom and further extending upward into and through a portion of the sidewall. The channel has an opening positioned in an external surface of the sidewall. The cookware apparatus further includes a thermal sensor positioned within the channel. The thermal sensor extends through the portion of the bottom and further extends upward into and through the portion of the sidewall.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 8, 2017Publication date: August 17, 2017Applicant: Meyer Intellectual Properties Ltd.Inventors: Stanley Kin Sui Cheng, Jonathan A. Publication number: 20170203884Abstract: An edible paste dispenser for applying decorative icing to cakes and other foods includes a tip assembly that connects paste containing chambers of a dual-chamber pastry bag and directs edible paste into a common extrusion nozzle. The tip assembly includes a pair of mating tubes secured via a locking nut to the extrusion nozzle. The tubes each have a sidewall portion that is generally S-shaped in cross-section and permits stable assembly and cooperative engagement of one tube with the other tube. After insertion of a tube into each pastry bag chamber, the tubes are attached to a common extrusion nozzle. The resulting extruded paste can include two different colored decorations, which can appear swirled S or other curvilinear shape provided by the two engaged cones. The tips of the cones, and paste containing bags, terminate just above the exit portal of the common nozzle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2015Publication date: July 20, 2017Applicant: Meyer Intellectual Properties Ltd.Inventors: Edward S. Publication number: 20140348987Abstract: Food stuffs are cooked at precise temperatures, which are optionally below 100° C., in a vessel that is evacuated to exclude air, in which low pressure steam replaces the air. When a sufficient quantity of air is excluded and replaced with water vapor, the temperature of vapor is accurately measured inside the vessel below the lid to control the temperatures within about 1° C. Air is preferably excluded via a controlled heated process for a relatively short period of time at high temperature to generate steam, the temperature is lowered to condense water vapor upon which the lid will sealingly engage the rim of the vessel, forming a partial vacuum in the cooking vessel.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 22, 2014Publication date: November 27, 2014Applicant: Meyer Intellectual Properties Ltd.Inventors: Stanley Kin Sui Cheng, Edward S. Sherman, Chun Wing Wong, Kam Yuen Li, Hing Hang Homer Cheung

Patent number: 7032505Abstract: A steeping apparatus is for steeping a solid food material in a liquid to impart a flavor of the solid food material to the liquid to produce a flavored beverage. A container is provided to hold the solid food material and the liquid. The container forms an opening, through which the solid food material and the liquid are inserted into the container, and a spout at a peripheral of the opening, through which the flavored beverage is poured out of the container. A plunger is movable with respect to the container between a first plunger position and a second plunger position. A plunger moving element coupled to the plunger such that the plunger moves from the first plunger position to the second plunger position as the plunger moving element is moved. The plunger includes a filter element that, as the plunger moves from the first plunger position to the second plunger position, permits the flow of liquid therethrough but that substantially inhibits the passage of solid food material therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2002Date of Patent: April 25, 2006Assignee: Meyer Intellectual Property Ltd.Inventor: Frank A.
