    Abstract: An input signal, in the form of a sequence of feature vectors, is transformed to an output signal by first storing parameters of a model of the input signal in a memory. Using the vectors and the parameters, a sequence of vectors of hidden variables is inferred. There is at least one vector hn of hidden variables hi,n for each feature vector xn, and each hidden variable is nonnegative. The output signal is generated using the feature vectors, the vectors of hidden variables, and the parameters. Each feature vector xn is dependent on at least one of the hidden variables hi,n for the same n. The hidden variables are related according to h i , n = ? j , l ? ? c i , j , l ? ? l , n ? h j , n - 1 , where j and l are summation indices. The parameters include non-negative weights ci,j,l, and ?l,n are independent non-negative random variables.

The mobile station includes multiple antennas. The base station and the mobile stations communicate with each other using frames. The DL subframe allocates one or more symbols and one or more subcarriers of an up-link (UL) subframe of the frame for antenna selection signals. The mobile station transmits the UL subframe including the antenna selection signals at the allocated subcarriers and symbols to the base station. Then, the base station selects a subset of the antennas based on the antenna selection signals.

A weight is assigned to each edge, which reflects interference and signal strength on the subchannel between the two MSs connected by the edge. Channel resources are allocated to the MS based on the graph.

Based upon the graph partitioning, the channel resources are allocated to the mobile stations in order to maximize the system capacity.

    Abstract: A method according to the invention separates multiple audio signals recorded as a mixed signal via a single channel. The mixed signal is A/D converted and sampled. A sliding window is applied to the samples to obtain frames. The logarithms of the power spectra of the frames are determined. From the spectra, the a posteriori probabilities of pairs of spectra are determined. The probabilities are used to obtain Fourier spectra for each individual signal in each frame. The invention provides a minimum-mean-squared error metho or a soft mask method for making this determination. The Fourier spectra are inverted to obtain corresponding signals, which are concatenated to recover the individual signals.

The invention constructs the model so that the model has a maximum volume that is consistent with the set of labeled regions in the input images. The method according to the invention directly constructs the polygonal model.

The modes of inter-mode macroblock are mapped to intra-mode macroblock according to the refresh rate.     Abstract: A method learns a binary classifier for classifying samples into a first class and a second class. First, a set of training samples is acquired. Each training sample is labeled as either belonging to the first class or to the second class. Pairs of dyadic samples are connected by projection vectors such that a first sample of each dyadic pair belonging to the first class and a second sample of each dyadic pair belonging to the second class. A set of hyperplanes are formed so that the hyperplanes have a surface normal to the projection vectors. One hyperplane from the set of hyperplanes is selected that minimizes a weighted classification error. The set of training samples is then weighted according to a classification by the selected hyperplane. The selected hyperplanes are combined into a binary classifier, and the selecting, weighting, and combining are repeated a predetermined number of iterations to obtain a final classifier for classifying test samples into the first and second classes.
