Patent number: 4562582Abstract: In an apparatus for receiving a burst signal intensity-modulated by a signal obtained by Manchester-code converting each code of an input signal into a pair of codes, the received burst signal is converted by a partial response circuit into an AC signal and then AC-amplified. From the received burst signal is extracted a timing signal of the same frequency as the clock frequency of the Manchester-coded signal. In a decision circuit, the AC-amplified output is decided by the timing signal, through using a decision level close to zero, at the timing of each of former and latter codes of the Manchester-coded pair codes. A coding rule violation is detected in a plurality of successive decision output codes to detect a reception abnormality such as asynchronism and a signal collision. The decision output is decided at the timing of the latter one of the Manchester-coded pair codes, thereby regenerating transmitted information.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1984Date of Patent: December 31, 1985Assignee: Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Public CorporationInventors: Nobuyuki Tokura, Yoshiro Hakamata, Kimio Oguchi

Patent number: 4561099Abstract: A clock signal in a TDMA burst signal is recovered by using the frequency and phase information extracted by taking a moving average of plural bursts received previously from the same earth station. The system has memory storage for storing frequency and/or phase information of a moving average of plural bursts received previously, and clock signal necessary to demodulate the present burst is recovered by using output of the memory storage. Thus, the synchronized clock signal for demodulating the received burst is obtained in a short time, or even a clock recovery bits in a burst may be removed. The establishment of the synchronized clock signal is indicated by a synchronization circuit which provides the establishment signal for each burst after receiving a predetermined plurality of bursts from the same earth station.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1983Date of Patent: December 24, 1985Assignee: Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Public CorporationInventors: Takeo Atsugi, Shuuichi Samejima, Tatsurou Masamura

Patent number: 4561114Abstract: In radio communication system using angular modulation, the presence and quantity of cochannel interference is detected. According to the invention, when desired signal and undesired signal are received simultaneously, an envelope of the received IF output signal involves low frequency spectrum component similar to that of fading and high frequency spectrum component with several KHz. The low frequency spectrum component and high frequency spectrum component are then calculated, and the interference ratio D/U is obtained by processing said components.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1983Date of Patent: December 24, 1985Assignee: Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Public CorporationInventors: Shigeru Kozono, Keiichi Ishikawa

Patent number: 4543574Abstract: The invention provides a method for resolving a data packet collision in a local network where a plurality of nodes which respectively comprise processors and terminal equipment utilize a single transmission line in accordance with a contention system.A contention phase is initiated unless a collision occurs. When a collision occurs, a resolution phase is initiated. The nodes which have been performing transmission immediately stop transmission. They discriminate their positions on the transmission line before a time interval (2.times.maximum transmission delay time interval) elapses from the start of transmission. If no signal is received by a given node from the left, the given node is regarded as the leftmost node among the conflicting nodes. The leftmost node immediately starts transmitting a packet. Other nodes except for the leftmost node stop retransmitting the packets. The nodes which have performed retransmission are stopped until the resolution phase is completed.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 1982Date of Patent: September 24, 1985Assignee: Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Public CorporationInventors: Akihiro Takagi, Shinichi Yamada, Syohel Sugawara
