  • Patent number: 6082288
Abstract: A pair of resilient clamps hold L-shaped terminals which extend from a self-luminescent indicator. An insulator disk holds a flexible conductive coil member and has slots which accommodate an end of the coil member and the resilient clamps in compressive state so that resilient force of the resilient clamps provide stable electric connection between the L-shaped terminals and the end of the coil member automatically when the clamp members are inserted into the slots. A pair of stationary catch members hold the other end of the coil member and connect it to an electric source. The connection between the other end of the coil member and the catch members is carried by hot punching to form thermo-compression bonding layer. The connecting portions of the catch members and the coil member are plated with tin or solder beforehand for this purpose.

  • Patent number: 6077721
Abstract: A semiconductor sensor mount is formed as follows: through holes are formed that penetrate a glass plate; and then the glass plate having the through holes is dipped into hydrofluoric acid etchant to smooth the inner peripheral surfaces of the respective through holes. By etching the inner peripheral surfaces of the respective through holes after the through hole formation, minute roughness and cracks formed on the inner peripheral surfaces are removed, and thereby the areas for adsorbing gas are substantially reduced. That is, vacuums within the through holes can be maintained at a high degree during the anodic bonding, whereby undesirable electric discharge phenomena are prevented even if a relatively high voltage is applied during the anodic bonding. Accordingly, the yield of products can be improved while improving productivity.

  • Patent number: 6074141
Abstract: A scroll member has a scroll wall having an axial end having a transverse surface on which a groove 20 is cut along the spiral direction of the scroll wall, to which groove a seal member contacting a facing scroll member is received. The scroll wall has a radially inner portion having a width larger than the width of the remaining part of the scroll wall. At the radially inner portion, the groove is also widened. When molding the scroll member, a recess deeper than the depth of the groove to be machined is created. The groove is obtained by machining the scroll member as molded by a milling tool. The widened portion of the groove is formed by moving a milling tool along a closed trajectory, so that the recess is left un-machined.

  • Patent number: 6067963
Abstract: When differential pressure between fuel flowing into a fuel control valve and fuel flowing out of the valve reaches a predetermined value, the biasing force of a compressed coil spring is countered and a shaft in the valve moves to the fuel upstream side so that a valve member is seated to terminate communication between the fuel inlet passage and the fuel outlet passage. This maintains fuel pressure at the fuel inlet passage and at the fuel outlet passage at different levels so that the fuel supply system maintains a high fuel pressure in the fuel rail to suppress fuel vapor generation during engine stoppage while also yet still providing an appropriate fuel injection pressure during rapid deceleration of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6066891
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an electrode wiring structure for semiconductor devices that can suppress the occurrence of Al voids inside aluminum alloy wiring without regard to the orientation of such aluminum alloy wiring. An interlayer insulator film 11, a titanium layer 12, a titanium nitride layer 13 that serves as the barrier layer, an aluminum alloy wiring layer 15 and a protective film 18 are formed on top of the silicon substrate 10 to compose the electrode structure. In this case, a distortion relaxation layer 14, with a film thickness of approximately over 10 nm and which is an intermetallic compound that includes aluminum and titanium in its composition, is formed in between the titanium nitride layer 13 and the aluminum alloy wiring layer 15. Because of this distortion relaxation layer, for every wiring width of 1 .mu.m, the number of Al voids with widths of over 0.3 .mu.m is practically reduced to 0.

  • Patent number: 6058597
Abstract: An electronic device mounting apparatus prevents an error at the setup time prior to startup of the apparatus and enables mounting of proper electronic devices without a mistake. A cartridge and a lane of a cartridge mounting rack have a cartridge side connector (upper electrode portion, connection plug, lower electrode portion) and a lane side connector (fixed plug) which are electrically connected when the cartridge is installed on the lane. An error detecting circuit is formed by employing these connectors as part thereof. The error detecting circuit determines whether or not the installation position of the cartridge is appropriate depending on the conductive state or non-conductive state from a power supply to a warning buzzer when the connectors are connected.

  • Patent number: 6049966
Abstract: A magnet wire having generally round cross section is taken out from a wire pack and formed by a forming roller mechanism into a polygonal shape in cross section to be wound on a bobbin tightly, thereby increasing the space factor of a coil. Then, magnet wire having round cross section is wound in a portion where pressure may be applied from the outside. Since the round wire is easy to move and able to dodge the pressure, a reliable coil of a high space factor can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6049761
Abstract: A vehicular traveling direction measuring system derives a weighting constant based on a monitored magnitude of the geomagnetic disturbance around a vehicle. Variance values of geomagnetism indicative data and a deviation magnitude from a standard azimuth circle may be used to estimate the geomagnetic disturbance magnitude. Mean data is derived from current cycle data and prior cycle data of the monitored geomagnetism using the weighting constant. The weighting constant determines a rate of dependency upon the current cycle data and the prior cycle data when deriving the mean data. The vehicular traveling direction is derived based on the derived mean data.

  • Patent number: 6043986
Abstract: A printed circuit board, having a plurality of via-holes provided in an area where circuit elements are arranged, includes a thermally conductive material having thermally good conductivity, for example copper, and the thermally good conductive material is formed in an inner wall of each of the plurality of via-holes. Each of the plurality of via-holes has, for example, a circular shape, and is arranged in the form of hexagonal or triangular lattice in the area where the circuit elements are arranged. Further, preferably, a diameter of each of the plurality of via-holes is equal to a hole pitch having an allowance .+-.0.3 mm. According to above structure, it is possible to provide a plurality of via-holes per unit area with high density on the printed circuit board and to improve the thermal conductivity of the printed circuit board by effectively radiating the heat generated from the circuit elements.

  • Patent number: 6023649
Abstract: The invention provides an anti-skid controller capable of correctly executing ABS control by accurately estimating a road surface .mu. without using additional sensors. Each wheel speed is detected, and acceleration of the vehicle body in a case where a wheel speed difference between front and rear wheels exceeds a specified value is determined. In this case, by using a change rate within a specified period of time with respect to a wheel speed of one in which wheel speed changing is small as the acceleration, a road surface .mu. corresponding to the acceleration is determined. Corrections regarding turning, bad road travelling, road surface changing, etc. can be carried out, by determining a lateral G based on a speed difference between left and right wheels.
