  • Patent number: 5015811
Abstract: This invention provides a pushbutton switch which produces a click sound, the loudness of which is easily variable. In response to the vertical movement of operating cams of a pushbutton, a plate spring moves up and down. The moment when the edge of the operating cams trips over click spring portions of the plate spring, a force is applied to the plate spring so that the plate spring hits the inner top wall or bottom wall of a housing. In this manner, the pushbutton switch provides both a snap feeling and a click sound.

  • Patent number: 5012057
Abstract: A trigger switch includes a trigger member pivotally attached to a grip member via a pivot pin and connected to an electric switch main body. By pressing and pivotally moving the trigger member, the switch main body can be actuated. To avoid inadvertent actuation of the switch main body, a lateral lock pin is passed through a slot provided in a metallic lock plate securely attached to the trigger member and a hole provided in the grip member so as to secure the trigger member immobile by engaging a large diameter portion of the lock pin in an expanded part of the slot of the metallic lock plate and release the trigger member by moving the large diameter portion out of the slot. To increase the margin of an insulation distance, the metallic lock plate is placed a certain distance away from the pivot pin.

  • Patent number: 5010556
Abstract: A semiconductor laser having an internal current restriction includes a (100) face-oriented p-type GaAs substrate treated to have a groove or difference in level having an (n11) A face (n=1-5) as an inclined surface. An AlGaAs:Si layer, an AlGaAs:Be cladding layer, an AlGaAs active layer, and an AlGaAs:Sn cladding layer are grown on the substrate in the order mentioned. Since the Si acts as an n-type material on the (100) face and as a p-type material on the (n11) face, the AlGaAs:Si layer becomes a p-type layer solely in the groove, and it is in this portion that a current path is formed. The laser can be fabricated by molecular-beam epitaxy applied in a single step.

  • Patent number: 5008534
Abstract: A contactless switch comprising a moveable body assembly including a plunger and a lens carrier received in a casing axially slidable manner between a light emitting element and a light receiving element which are also disposed along and on the axial line of the casing. Thus, the radial dimension of the switch can be reduced, and a compact design is made possible. Additionally, the actuating stroke of the moveable body assembly can be made large without increasing the dimensions of the switch. In particular, since a switch output can be produced from a signal processing circuit when the amount of the light received by the light receiving element has reached a certain predetermined level, the point of activation of the switch can be accurately defined by adjusting a reference level for the level of the light received by the light receiving element, and this adjustment can be easily carried out.

  • Patent number: 5008529
Abstract: The projection lights including the red and infrared lights are projected from a light projecting device (3) onto a reflex reflector (7) arranged at a position which is away from the light projecting device by a predetermined distance. The reflex reflector reflects the red light and absorbs the infrared light. The reflected lights from the reflex reflector or an object to be detected are detected by a photo sensitive device (4). The photo sensitive device individually detects the red light and infrared light and outputs two light detection signals. The sum of the light detection signals is compared with the first threshold value. The difference between the light detection signals is compared with the second threshold value. An object detection signal is formed on the basis of the logical arithmetic operation of the results of the comparison.

  • Patent number: 5001358
Abstract: An interface device which is provided with a DC-DC converter and a power output terminal so that the internal circuit of the interface device and the external equipment may share a common power source in spite of their different power supply requirements, and the wiring connection between the interface device and the external equipment may be simplified. In particular, if the interface device is configured as a terminal base and coupled to the controller via serial transmission line, a significant simplification of the wiring between different parts of the controller system can be accomplished. If the power terminals include positive and negative power output terminals arranged in an alternating fashion, and the power terminals and the signal lead terminals are arranged in two different rows, preferably, in staggered relationship, the leads from different pieces of external equipment may be clustered close to each other, and the external wiring work is extremely simplified.
