Abstract: A voice integration platform and method provide for integration of a voice interface with a data system that includes stored data. The voice integration platform comprises one or more generic software components, the generic software components being configured to enable development of a specific voice user interface that is designed to interact with the data system in order to present the stored data to a user.

Abstract: A disclosed wireless phone includes a user interface having at least one button, a processor coupled to the user interface to detect a user's activation of the button, and software stored in a memory including: an acquisition process to obtain a secondary phone number in response to the user's activation of the button, and a display process to display the secondary phone number to the user. A described telecommunications server provides the secondary phone number to the wireless phone, and includes a forwarding process that forwards incoming phone calls directed to the secondary phone number to the wireless phone with modified caller-id information. A described method of enabling anonymous reception of phone calls includes automatically determining a programmed phone number of a wireless phone, and providing a button that causes the wireless phone to automatically obtain a secondary phone number.

Abstract: Herbal compositions derived from Kenyan plants are provided for the treatment of HIV and other infectious diseases. The herbal compositions can include the extracts of up to 14 plants, including the root of Dovyalis abyssinica and Clutia robusta. Also provided are methods for extracting alkaloids and other compounds from the plants. Also provided are methods of treating a subject having an infectious disease, particularly HIV.

Abstract: A method for accessing and browsing the internet through the use of a telephone and the associated DTMF signals is disclosed. The preferred embodiment provides a system that converts the information content of a web page from text to speech (voice signals), signals the hyperlink selections of a web page in an audio manner, and allows selection of the hyperlinks through the use of DTMF signals generated from a telephone keypad. Upon receiving a DTMF signal corresponding to a hyperlink, the corresponding web page is fetched and again delivered to the user via one of the available delivery methods such as voice, fax-on-demand, electronic mail, or regular mail.

Abstract: A dynamic voice user interface system is provided. The dynamic voice user interface system interacts with a user at a first level of formality. The voice user interface system then monitors history of user interaction and adjusts the voice user interface to interact with the user with a second level of formality based on the history of user interaction.

Advanced features will thus relock if the Password is copied to another ID-target. Abstract: An electronic book selection and delivery system distributes text to subscribers. The system provides for on-demand and virtual on-demand delivery of electronic books. Specified electronic books may be broadcast to a set of subscribers. Alternatively, a first section of the specified electronic books may be broadcast. A second section of each of the electronic books is then available for later delivery, upon order by a subscriber. The second sections, as well as first sections, and true on-demand electronic books may be loaded into one or more queues. The queues may then be emptied based on a priority model. Electronic books in an on-demand queue may be given priority for delivery over electronic books in other queues.

In conjunction with viewing an electronic book, a user can view information about products and services, view an on-line electronic catalog, and receive samples of products available for purchase. A picture-in-picture feature permits the subscriber to simultaneously view a page of an electronic book along with other content, such as a television program or information from another electronic book. Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for determining voice recognition accuracy of a voice recognition system are provided. In one embodiment, voice recognition information produced by a voice recognition system in response to recognizing a user utterance is analyzed. The voice recognition information comprises a recognized voice command associated with the user utterance and a reference to an audio file that includes the user utterance. Based on the analysis, a recognition error may be identified and the source of the error determined. A solution is then automatically implemented to eliminate the source of the error. As part of the analysis, the user utterance may be transcribed to create a transcribed utterance, if the recognized voice command does not match the user utterance. The transcribed utterance may then be compared to the recognized voice command to identify an error.
