Abstract: A child resistant actuator cap for a pressurized aerosol dispenser or the like operates in only one relative alignment of the cap and a collar affixed to the container. Alignment is signalled to the user by a predetermined number of clicks of a flexible blade following a blank space which produces no clicks.
Abstract: An actuator cap for a pressurized aerosol dispenser includes an integrally hinged actuator tab secured with tamper proof frangible webs. The webs must be broken and the tab rotated about the hinge to engage the container valve stem. Detents on the tab and cap latch the valve open for continuous discharge.
Abstract: An improved mechanical break-up actuator, molded in one piece, for spray dispensing from a pressurized aerosol dispenser has a swirl chamber with a central protruding mound and an off-center discharge orifice.
Abstract: A valve body for a pressurized aerosol dispenser valve has an annular groove in the spring retaining nipple adjacent its junction with the remaining portion of the valve body to eliminate the "shaving" or "tail" scraped from the surface of the plastic of the valve body when the spring is placed on the spring retaining nipple of the valve body.
Abstract: A valve for a pressurized dispenser which includes, within a mounting cup, a valve housing and an annular gasket clamped between the cup and the housing for sealing a discharge passage of a movable valve stem, and which incorporates a clearance space in the cup around the outer marginal portion of the gasket to accommodate the marginal portion when the gasket is stretched during the filling of the dispenser to provide a flow path to the outside of the housing, and which has spacers spaced apart around the periphery of the gasket to define the distance between the cup and the housing within which the gasket is clamped, and between which the stretched gasket extends.

Abstract: A valve for a pressurized dispenser which includes within a mounting cup, a valve housing and an annular gasket for sealing a discharge passage of a movable valve stem, the gasket having peripheral edge portions which do not extend to contact the valve cup surrounding wall, and a marginal portion between its peripheral edge and the portion clamped between the mounting cup and the valve housing, and which incorporates a clearance space within the cup and beyond the periphery of the gasket to accommodate the marginal portion of the gasket when stretched during the filling of the dispenser so that a flow path is provided to the outside of the housing. The gasket is preferably polygonal in shape, for example hexagonal.
Abstract: An actuator for a pressurized aerosol dispenser includes passages which lead from the container mounted valve to a discharge orifice. The actuator provides a lever action having a mechanical advantage to reduce the finger applied force required to open the valve. The pivot or fulcrum of the actuator is in the form of a generally U-shaped resilient clip which grips and rides on the mounting cup bead.
Abstract: An inexpensive, container mounted, plastic dispenser pump for dispensing a product from the container is leak-proof in its rest position since neither the outlet valve nor the atmospheric container vent open in response to container pressure or positional attitude of the dispenser. The outlet valve is positive in action since it is opened by relative movement of pump parts during actuation. The pump inlet valve is actuated by differential pressure. The atmospheric vent for the container is blocked by the position of pump parts when at rest.
