Abstract: An optical reading device of a scanning apparatus includes two light sources and a movable lens. The first light source emits a first light when the optical reading device is operated in a flatbed scanning mode. The second light source emits a second light when the optical reading device is operated in a sheetfed scanning mode. The movable mirror is selected to allow for passing the first light without being obstructed by the movable mirror in the flatbed scanning mode or allow for reflecting the second light coming from the second mirror in the sheetfed scanning mode. Due to the special design, the overall volume of the scanning module is reduced.
Abstract: A print control device with an embedded engine simulation module and the test method thereof are disclosed. With the engine simulation module is inserted in the print control device, the print engine signal is directly sent to the video signal processor of the print control device. The video signal processor follows the print engine signal along with the clock and video signals to print data signals, thereby testing the print control device. Therefore, adjustments of the print engine signal can directly simulate the situations of supporting different print engines.

Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes a sheet input structure, a transfer path, a first guiding path, a second guiding path, a first guiding unit including first and second guiding strips, a second guiding unit, first and second temporary receiving paths and five roller assemblies. A first end of the first guiding strip is pivotally coupled to the position between the first guiding path and the second guiding path. A second end of the first guiding strip is sustained against the second guiding strip under the first guiding strip. A document is transported from the second guiding path into a first temporary receiving path or a second temporary receiving path through the upper surface of the second guiding strip. The document received in the first temporary receiving path or the second temporary receiving path is guided by the first guiding strip to be transported into the first guiding path.
Abstract: A cable management device includes a case, a cable-clamping plate and a sheltering plate. A cable is clamped by the cable-clamping plate. Upon rotation of the sheltering plate, the cable is wound inside of the case. The cable-management device is cost-effective and easy-to-use.
Abstract: A method for blurred image judgment is provided. Firstly, a focus value FV1 of an original image is calculated. By using a blur function, the original image is obfuscated to generate a blurred image, and then the focus value FV2 of the blurred image is calculated. A blur ratio FV1/FV2 is compared with a blur threshold value Tp, thereby discriminating whether the original image is blurred according to the comparing result. The method for blurred image judgment is applicable to a digital image capture device. If the original image is deemed blurred, a blur image signal is issued to notify the user whether the retaking operation is done.
Abstract: A zoom tracking method for digital camera is disclosed. The method comprises storing a position table comprising data of several zoom position curves respect to positions of a focus lens and move the focus lens position by looking up said position table while moving a zoom lens position. The curves are divided into a first linear region, a second linear region and a nonlinear region to reduce the table size while still achieving good image quality.
Abstract: A wireless peripheral system for use with a computer includes a wireless signal transceiver controller and two peripheral devices. These peripheral devices include a human input device and an audio receive/transmit device, which are in communication with the computer via the wireless signal transceiver controller so as to communicate with the computer in a wireless transmission manner.
Abstract: A document feeder includes a casing, a sheet pick-up module, a stopper and a swing lever. The casing includes a sheet feeding channel therein. The sheet pick-up module is pivotally mounted above the sheet feeding channel, and movable between a sheet feeding position and a standby position. The stopper is disposed under the sheet feeding channel. The swing lever includes a first end part is pressed down by the sheet pick-up module and a second end part is pressed down by the stopper. When the sheet pick-up module is switched from the sheet feeding position to the standby position, the sheet pick-up module depresses the first end part of the swing lever, so that the stopper is raised by the second end part of the swing lever to be protruded to the sheet feeding channel.
Abstract: A connector provided for coupling a computer peripheral device with a RJ11 or RJ45 data communication socket of a computer. The connector includes a first connecting part and a second connecting part. The first connecting part has a shape mating with said data communication socket. Abstract: A wireless cursor control device for use with a computer system includes a main body, a wireless signal receiver, a storing portion and a resilient pad member. The main body generates a wireless signal to control a cursor of the computer system. The wireless signal receiver is swappable to be electrically connected to the computer system for receiving the wireless signal. The storing portion is disposed in the main body for accommodating the wireless signal receiver. The resilient pad member is engaged with the bilateral sides of the storing portion, and deformed to generate a restoring force when the wireless signal receiver is inserted into the storing portion. The resilient pad member is sustained against the wireless signal receiver according to the restoring force.

Abstract: A digital video image stabilization method features scene change detection, adaptive stabilization in two dimensions, prevention of accumulated-compensation saturation, multi-resolution motion estimation, and compatibility with MPEG video encoding standards. The method uses block-based motion estimation on a selected set of macroblocks, which generates and validates a set of motion vectors, to determine how a digital camcorder or other video recording device is moving; accumulates motion data to estimate and preserve overall motion due to panning while eliminating small variations due to shaking; and resets its accumulated motion data when it detects a scene change. The method uses this information to select a sub-image from a larger image for the selected video frame. When one or more edges of the sub-image approach the edges of the larger image, the method reduces its correction factor to transition smoothly to a faster pan and prevent saturation.

Abstract: A method of extracting a textual area in a digital image, in which the digital image is divided into a plurality of blocks, each being computed to obtain a number of edges, each having a higher contrast in the block at a horizontal direction and a vertical direction. Based on the determined edge number, a plurality of textual blocks are determined out of the plurality of blocks in the digital image and the corresponding textual areas may be extracted from the digital image, so that the textual area and a continuous pictorial area in the digital image may be processed separately.
