Patents Assigned to Qualite Sports Lighting, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7963681
Abstract: A race track lighting system comprising a plurality of fixtures mounted in spaced relationship to one another on the infield side of the track and projecting light outwardly and downwardly onto the track surface from relatively low poles. Each fixture is asymmetric so as to provide a strong cut-off preventing light from being projected into the eyes of oncoming driver, but a divergent pattern in the direction of traffic flow so as to blend the light from one fixture with the light from an adjacent fixture for the purpose of promoting uniformity in the lighting intensity. The lamp is offset in the fixture and a blocker strip is placed in from of the lamp to prevent direct, uncontrolled light from reaching the track.

  • Patent number: 5313379
Abstract: An asymmetric luminaire for illuminating large outdoor areas, such as an athletic field, wherein glare and light spillage is minimized and controlled. The luminaire includes a reflecting surface of a generally parabolic configuration, and an arc light source is located within the luminaire, the length of the light source being disposed at approximately 45.degree. with respect to the parabolic axis. A visor is used at the peripheral rim of the luminaire to control vertical and lateral light spillage, and the visor includes light source shields to prevent vertical spillage from the upper region of the luminaire. The luminaire reflecting surface includes a plurality of elliptical light reflecting ridges for restricting the near light beam height, and the upper portion of the reflecting surface can include substantially conical concentric light reflecting flute surfaces for accurately directing the light to target locations remote from the luminaire.

  • Patent number: 4864476
Abstract: An outdoor lighting system utilizing reflectors capable of producing a uniform distribution of light over a large area. The system reflectors employ parabolic reflecting surfaces utilizing a plurality of adjacent small concave and convex configurations for distributing the light in a uniform manner with a minimum of spillage, and a single reflector may employ three separate types of reflecting configurations to achieve the desired result at variable distances from the light source.
