The back panel is attached to the front panel.

Abstract: A breast cup for an undergarment, such as a brassiere, includes a cup core that has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. Each of the first and second surfaces is formed with a plurality of grooves. Each groove has an elongated opening, an elongated bottom, and a sidewall on each of two longitudinal sides of the groove. The breast cup also includes a first fabric layer overlying the first surface of the cup core, and a second fabric layer overlying the second surface of the cup core. A top part of the sidewalls of one or more of the plurality of the first grooves is attached to the first fabric layer while at least a portion of the bottom of the one or more of the plurality of the first grooves is not attached to the first fabric layer.

Abstract: A breast cup assembly including an outer fabric layer, an inner fabric layer, and a molded core assembly having two cup regions and disposed between the outer and inner fabric layers, the core assembly including an inner core foam layer laminated with an outer core fabric layer. Each of the inner and outer fabric layers may have a range greater than the extent of the core assembly, and the inner core foam layer at each of the two cup regions of the core assembly has varying thickness but substantially the same density across the cup region.

Abstract: A bra to enable monitoring of a wearer's heart rate. There is provided a bra comprising a left breast cup; a right breast cup; and a center gore attached between the left and right breast cups. Each of the left and right breast cups comprises a lower edge region which is shaped to follow the shape of a wearer's breast and is shaped to be positioned below a wearer's breast to support the breast, and wherein the lower edge region comprises an electrically conductive fabric layer on the inner surface for contact with the user's skin. The center gore comprises an attachment area for attachment of a transmitter and an electrically conductive pathway from the electrically conductive fabric of the lower regions of the breast cups to the attachment area. Bra components for providing electrical pathways are also provided.

Abstract: There is provided a brassiere cup comprising an outermost fabric layer joined to a perimeter of a preformed cup, wherein at least part of the joint between the outermost fabric layer and the perimeter of the preformed cup has been formed by ultrasonic welding, and may be thin, neat, smooth, and seamless. There is also provided a method of joining a fabric to at least part of a perimeter of a preformed brassiere cup, wherein the joint with the perimeter is achieved by ultrasonic welding.

The structure comprises a body having a channel for receiving an underwire and a wing member integral with and extending from the body. The cushioning material is positioned on the outside of the body, and the wing member is folded around the cushioning member to capture the cushioning material between the body and the wing member. A method of manufacturing the cushioned casing is also provided.

The inner panel has a surface area the majority of which is overlaid with the pad, and the outer panel and the inner panel are attached to each other about a periphery of each panel to retain the pad in its location.

Abstract: There is provided an underwire for a brassiere including: a plurality of linkage elements; each linkage element connected to at least one adjacent linkage element via a joint; at least one joint allowing for movement of the connected linkage element with respect to its adjacent linkage element; wherein movement of at least one connected linkage element with respect to its adjacent linkage element allows the underwire to more closely assume the curvature of a wearer's figure. A brassiere incorporating the improved underwire is also provided.
