    Abstract: In an embodiment, the present disclosure pertains to a composition for inhibiting calcium oxalate monohydrate crystal growth comprising at least one isolated polypeptide comprising a plurality of amino acids that bind the surface of the calcium oxalate monohydrate crystal; and a plurality of amino acids spacers, wherein the amino acid spacers are arranged in varying sequences between the plurality of amino acids that bind the surface of the calcium oxalate monohydrate crystal. In some embodiments, the present disclosure related to a method of controlling calcium oxalate monohydrate crystal growth in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject therapeutically effective amount of the calcium oxalate monohydrate inhibiting polypeptide. In some embodiments, the present disclosure relates to a method of identifying calcium oxalate monohydrate inhibiting peptides.

    Abstract: A pseudo-volumetric display apparatus includes a first inwardly facing image display surface having a continuous geometry, with an open upper end, for presenting an interior panoramic image, and a second upwardly facing image display surface, located at a lower end of the first image display surface, for presenting a second image. The second image is correlated and synchronized to the first image, and the first image display surface is sized and positioned to facilitate simultaneous viewing of both images from outside of the first surface via the open upper end. The same or coupled information may be simultaneously presented as a continuous Cartesian representation on the first image display surface and as a polar representation on the second image display surface, and content of one representation may be synchronized in accordance with a selected position in the other representation.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for modulating a manufactured light source are disclosed. Methods and systems of the present disclosure include sensor assemblies having first and second light sensors to retrieve light spectrum data at a target location, such as from a surface in an interior space at a home, office, or commercial building, that also receives daylight exposure. The first light sensor retrieves the light spectrum data within a spectrum of the manufactured light source. The second light sensor retrieves light spectrum data outside of the spectrum of the manufactured light source, yet within the spectrum of daylight. The light spectrum data is used to define spectral characteristics at the target location, such as a ratio of daylight to the manufactured light source, phase of daylight, and average overall quantity, which are used to maximize light-associated benefits of the spectral composition for the occupants at the target location, such as humans, plants, and animals.

The synthetic membrane includes a hydrophobic polymer layer located on a polymeric membrane support layer. The invention includes a method of isolating volatile organic compounds with the synthetic membrane by contacting a volatile organic mixture with the hydrophobic polymer layer of the synthetic membrane and removing volatile organic compounds from the polymeric membrane support layer of the synthetic membrane by a process of pervaporation. The invention also includes a method of purifying water with the synthetic membrane by contacting an ionic solution with the hydrophobic polymer layer of the synthetic membrane and removing water from the polymeric membrane support layer of the synthetic membrane by a process of reverse osmosis. The invention also relates to methods of isolating non-polar gases by gas fractionation.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting an autism state are disclosed. A plurality of data arrays are received, each including a plurality of values. Each of the plurality of values represent a concentration of a different metabolite. A score for each of the plurality of data arrays is calculated based on a relationship between the plurality of values of each of the respective plurality of data arrays. The score for each of the plurality of data arrays is classified into an autism class and a neurotypical class. A test score for a test data array is calculated based on a relationship between the plurality of test values and can then be grouped into one of the autism class and the neurotypical class. The system thus can use biomarkers identified in a metabolic pathway, such as abnormalities in folate-dependent one-carbon metabolism (FOCM) and transsulfuration (TS), to identify patients with a high likelihood of having autism.
