Abstract: The present invention is directed to a new aqueous dispersion of surface active polymer which demonstrates enhanced surface active and performance properties more particularly as a foaming agent. The polymer comprises a vinyl monomer having at least one quaternized nitrogen atom, a vinyl monomer having at least one amide group, a vinyl monomer bearing both a hydrophobic and a hydrophylic group and optionally, a vinyl carboxylic monomer.
Abstract: Improve surfactant recovery upon ultrafiltration of a surfactant-containing aqueous solution can be obtained using an amphoteric surfactant as the surfactant.
Abstract: Fatty acid esters of hydroxyalkylsulfonates and fatty acid amides of aminoalkylsulfonates are prepared by heating an excess of the fatty acids with the sulfonate until the water of condensation is removed. The excess fatty acid is removed by distillation and the isolated fatty acid ester or amide product is directly and rapidly cooled to minimize decomposition and color degradation.
