  • Patent number: 11942927
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for short-circuit detection by saturation detection in power semiconductor switches and to a corresponding device. A reference voltage (Uref) is provided as a function of a supply voltage (UVDD) of a power semiconductor switch. A differential voltage (Udiff) is generated from the difference of a voltage drop (U?) of a load path of the power semiconductor switch and the provided reference voltage (Uref). The generated differential voltage (Udiff) is compared with a predetermined threshold voltage (Ulim). A short-circuit current in the load path of the power semiconductor switch is detected when the differential voltage (Udiff) exceeds the threshold voltage (Ulim). In this case, the power semiconductor switch is opened.

  • Patent number: 11932088
Abstract: A virtual visor system includes a visor having a plurality of independently operable pixels that are selectively operated with a variable opacity. A camera captures images of the face of a driver or other passenger and, based on the captured images, a controller operates the visor to automatically and selectively darken a limited portion thereof to block the sun or other illumination source from striking the eyes of the driver, while leaving the remainder of the visor transparent. The virtual visor system advantageously snaps projected eye positions on the visor to a grid, which helps to minimize rapid and distracting changes in the optical state of the visor.

  • Patent number: 11932532
Abstract: A micromechanical component for a pressure sensor device. The component includes a substrate; a frame structure, mounted on a boundary surface of the substrate, including a diaphragm, whose inner diaphragm side borders on an interior volume, framed by the frame structure, so that when a pressure prevailing on its outer diaphragm side is above a reference pressure, the diaphragm is warped into the interior volume; and a rocker structure suspended on the inner diaphragm side, which in its operating mode is set into a rocker motion. An open gap exists between a stop face of the rocker structure and the boundary surface when a pressure prevailing on the outer diaphragm side is above the reference pressure and below a minimum operating pressure. The open gap is closed only when a pressure prevailing on the outer diaphragm side becomes greater or equal to the minimum operating pressure.

  • Patent number: 11932340
Abstract: A vehicle suspension pre-load management system is disclosed. At least one suspension component, such as a motorcycle shock absorber, has an expandable chamber that with increased volume of a nearly incompressible fluid increases the suspensions pre-load. In one embodiment the system utilizes a controller, a pressure sensor, a pump, and a number of solenoids in a manifold block to allow a user to set a desired pre-load level. In another embodiment the controller monitors the pressure of the chamber and maintains a desired pre-load setting. In yet another embodiment, the controller identifies a hard braking event such that would cause a brake dive and increases the pre-load to counter act the dive.

  • Patent number: 11932215
Abstract: A method for operating a braking system for a vehicle. A braking request signal characterizing a braking request is generated by actuation of a positioning assemblage of an actuation circuit, and a target brake pressure required in an active circuit is ascertained based on the braking request signal. An actual brake pressure in the active circuit is established in accordance with the target brake pressure, using a pressure generation device, by moving a displacer piston of the pressure generation device using an electric motor of the pressure generation device. If the braking request signal is constant over a predetermined time period, a wheel brake actuated by the active circuit is hydraulically decoupled from the pressure generation device by closing an isolation valve that is disposed in a hydraulic path between the pressure generation device and the wheel brake, and the electric motor is shut off.

  • Patent number: 11933423
Abstract: A method for determining a switching point of a solenoid valve. A solenoid coil is energized to raise a solenoid armature to unblock a flow opening. For a signal profile characteristic of a current profile in the solenoid coil, multiple periods each different from one another and each having the same predefined temporal length are determined. Within each period, a minimal and a maximal value of the signal profile and associated points in time are ascertained and a product of a difference between the maximal and minimal value and a difference between the associated points in time are ascertained. On the basis of the points in time of the minimal and maximal value of that period, which corresponds to a maximal value of the product, the switching point is determined.
