Abstract: The present disclosure provides a curable composition comprising from 70 to 99% by dry weight based on total dry weight of the curable composition, an acrylic emulsion component, and from 1 to 30% by dry weight based on the total dry weight of the curable composition, a polyolefin emulsion component prepared by emulsifying a polycarboxylic-compound functionalized polyolefin starting material.
Abstract: Provided is a process for forming a polymer composition, wherein the process comprises (a) providing a slurry in an aqueous medium, wherein the slurry comprises (i) pellets comprising a polyolefin block copolymer, wherein the block copolymer comprises a crystalline block and an amorphous block, (ii) one or more vinyl monomers, (iii) one or more initiator, wherein the slurry comprises, by weight based on the total weight of the slurry, 0 to 0.01% of all surfactants, and 0 to 0.01% of all water-soluble polymers; and (b) polymerizing the one or more vinyl monomers.
Abstract: Described herein are emulsion polymers, spray dried powders made with said emulsion polymers, and cementitious compositions made with said emulsion polymers or said spray dried powders. Emulsion polymers described herein comprise a shell portion comprising an alkali soluble resin (ASR), a core portion formed from polymerized units of at least one hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated monomer, wherein no crosslinker is present when the shell portion and core portion are combined, and a nonionic water-soluble polymer.

Abstract: A multi-stage emulsion processing aid polymer comprising one or more functionalized ethylenically unsaturated monomer into the emulsion polymerization reactor, wherein the functionality is selected from the group consisting of ?-keto esters, ?-keto amides, ?-diketones, cyanoacetic esters, malonates, nitroalkanes, ?-nitro esters, sulfonazides, thiols, thiol-s-triazines, and amine, where the functionality is incorporated into polymers by polymerizing, ethylenically unsaturated monomers containing these functionalities or by post functionalization of a polymer with additional reactions after polymerization in one of the first or second stages. Foamable halogenated polymers comprising the multi-stage emulsion processing aid polymer is also provided. Also provided are methods for making the multi-stage emulsion processing aid polymer and foamable halogenated polymers.
