  • Patent number: 11079200
Abstract: An arm brace apparatus for use with a firearm allows for a reduced form factor when the arm brace is not needed by the shooter. The arm brace apparatus includes a hinge which allows for a substantial portion of the brace to pivot between an open or deployed configuration, a useful position when shooting, and a closed or stowed position, useful for transportation or storage of the firearm to which the arm brace is attached. A latch mechanism allows the device to be locked in either the open or closed position.

  • Patent number: 10845138
Abstract: An apparatus for extending the magazine well of a firearm has extender body dimensioned to receive a firearm magazine and an expandable securing mechanism coupled to the extender body and selectively expandable against the internal cavity adjacent the magazine well on most firearms. Movement of a driving element in the expandable securing mechanism causes an expandable member thereof to transition from a first unexpanded configuration to a second expanded configuration for frictionally engaging interior surfaces of the internal cavity, and vice versa.

  • Patent number: 10317174
Abstract: A modular system for mounting firearm accessories and a method for attaching a firearm accessory to a firearm are provided. In embodiment, the modular system includes a first mounting member capable of receiving a firearm accessory, and a second mounting member capable of combining with the first mounting member. A joining mechanism rotatable about an axis perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the firearm, releasably joins the first mounting member with the second mounting member. In another embodiment, the modular system further includes an adjustment mechanism for adjusting engagement tightness of the mounting members with a mounting site to ensure more secure joining thereof.

  • Patent number: 10309748
Abstract: An assembly for mounting a handguard to a firearm utilizes a biasing element disposed intermediate the barrel nut and the interior end of the handguard and a clamping element also disposed intermediate the barrel nut and the interior end of the handguard but positioned opposite the biasing element about the perimeter of the barrel nut. One or both of the biasing element and clamping element have multiple surfaces which mimic portions of the exterior profile of the barrel nut to prevent any of longitudinal, axial, or radial misalignment of the handguard relative to the axis of the firearm barrel.

  • Patent number: 10309747
Abstract: An assembly for mounting a handguard to a firearm prevents longitudinal, axial, or radial misalignment relative to the axis of the firearm barrel by utilizing a biasing element disposed intermediate the barrel nut and the interior diameter of the handguard, a clamping element positioned opposite the biasing element about the perimeter of the barrel nut and having a first wedged surface, and a threaded wedge configured to co-act with the first wedged surface of the clamping element to directionally force the clamping element against the barrel nut in a manner that prevents canting of the handguard.

  • Patent number: 8572881
Abstract: A modular system for mounting firearm accessories includes a first accessory mounting member attachable directly to the firearm accessory and a second firearm mounting member to which first accessory mounting member may be removably joined. The first and second mounting members are frictionally engaged with interlocking barb(s) and a retention pin. One or more of barbs project from the first mounting member, each having a substantially rounded tip and a tapered or gradually decreasing diameter shaft, and are received within a complementary shaped aperture on the second mounting member. A retention pin disposed within a transverse channel in the second mounting member, and having corresponding area(s) of reduced diameter along the shaft thereof, is removably secured against the barb(s) at a right angle thereto when the barbs are received within the second mounting member, frictionally securing the two members together.

  • Patent number: 8448367
Abstract: A modular fore-end rail assembly for mounting onto a firearm includes a hand guard and a bushing element that combines with an end portion of the hand guard to encircle the standard barrel nut, thereby supporting the entire assembly without requiring modification to the standard barrel nut. The thermal transfer characteristics of the material from which the bushing element is manufactured may be selected to either increase or decrease the rate at which heat is transferred from the barrel nut to the hand guard allowing for rapid changes of bushing elements and, therefore, rapid and selective changes in the heating rate of the hand guard.

  • Patent number: 7793452
Abstract: A modular fore-end rail assembly for a firearm is disclosed. The assembly includes an upper handguard having forward and rearward ends. A dovetail rail extends between the forward and rearward ends. Opposing sidewalls extend outwardly and downwardly from the dovetail rail, respectively. The sidewalls terminate in mounting channels. The rearward end includes a first clamping member. A clamp is removably secured to the rearward end and cooperates with the first clamping member to engage a barrel nut of a firearm. The clamp has an exterior surface including a slidable locking pin movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A lower handguard includes sidewalls that extend outwardly and upwardly. The sidewalls terminate in mating formations that are configured to be slidably received in the mounting channels. A lock aperture is provided at a rearward end of the lower handguard.
