Abstract: A mixing device such as a concrete mixer is provided in the form of a hollow cylindrical drum with an opening at one end. A lid is engageable with the drum to close the opening. At least one and preferably two baffles are provided within the drum and these are shaped so as to cause an end to end as well as tumbling movement of the contents of the drum when the drum is rolled along a ground surface.

Abstract: The invention concerns a fastener for locking the closures of containers, particularly ammunition containers. A container and a closure each have ring means which form coaxially aligned bores when the container is fully closed. The fastener comprises an upper and lower body, each of which is provided with a projection means. The projection means attached to the lower body is dimensioned to be pushed through the bore formed by the aligned rings in a first direction, but is prevented from being removed from the bore in a second opposite direction. When it is required to open the container, the fastener is pulled with a force in excess of 5 lbs. and the projection means attached to the lower body is torn from the fastener. The lower body of the fastener is moulded in a collapsed form for subsequent assembly. The fastener can be quickly and conveniently applied and removed from containers without the use of tools.

Abstract: An outer wrapper for a container which opens along an oblique parting line. The outer wrapper includes a tear tape having a pattern such that each segment of the parting line has an aligned tear tape segment. The tear tape thus tears the outer wrapper along the parting line to facilitate opening the container without interference from the remnants of the outer wrapper which may remain adhered to the container.

Abstract: A plastic tray for the storage, shipping and display of pop bottles. The tray is an open box with pillars attached to the inside bottom of the box. Bottle compartments are thus defined by the box walls and the pillars. The inside of the box walls and pillar sides of each compartment are molded to match the contour of a bottle to be inserted into the compartment. The pillar and box walls are flexible enough to allow the insertion of slightly oversized bottles, but resilient enough to provide a snug fit of each bottle within each compartment.

Abstract: A connection device for use in securing an end of a corrugated pipe to a fitting such as a terminal box connector or a pipe-to-pipe coupling has an array of fingers extending axially from an annular ring, for insertion into the fitting. Enlarged head portions at the inner ends of the fingers serve to engage the ribs or corrugations on the pipe outer surface, when a pipe is inserted therepast, and also provide a differentiated camming action to secure engagement of the head portions with a corrugation of the pipe and to prevent withdrawal of the pipe from the fitting. The fitting with which the device is combined also has an axially extended inner peripheral seat against which the pipe corrugations seat, to preclude passage of concrete betwen the pipe and the fitting.

Abstract: A thrust restrainer for a joint in a pipeline between a plain end of a synthetic plastic pipe and a fitting comprises a pair of semicylindrical moulded half sleeves bolted together through diametrically extending flange portions, the half sleeves having at one end an internal profile complementary to that of the fitting, and at its other end a semicylindrical internal profile matching the external surface of the pipe, the semicylindrical profile including a plurality of parallel serrations which deform the material of the pipe into engagement with the serrations on bolting together of the half sleeves.

Abstract: A carton for carrying a plurality of bottles, the carton having a stacking capability when both empty and when filled with bottles. Registration for stacking of empty cartons is provided by reception of the handles of each carton in a recessed open area in the bottom of the next carton in the stack. Each carton comprises side and end walls connected in a generally rectangular shape, a central dividing member having an extension thereof forming a handle, partition walls cooperating with the central dividing member to form cells for holding bottles, and a carton bottom coupled to the partition walls and central member. The carton bottom, partition walls and central dividing member are relieved so as to form a slotted region for receiving the handle of a similar empty carton therebelow. Appropriately disposed upward protrusions on the carton bottom maintain the separation of bottles in the relieved region of the carton.
