  • Patent number: 11753812
Abstract: Described herein is a grease and/or solids collection system that can be installed directly below a sink basin. The system generally comprises an insert cartridge for collecting both solids and grease contained in wastewater draining from the sink. The cartridge can be easily removed through the sink drain, emptied, and reinstalled, for example, using a handle positioned at the top of the cartridge and accessible through the sink drain.

  • Patent number: 11679342
Abstract: A separation device configured to separate light and heavy components of an effluent mixture. The separation device includes a separation tank, an inlet discharge, an outlet diffuser, and a baffle. The separation tank includes a tank reservoir for containing the effluent mixture during separation, with light components configured to migrate upwardly toward a static water line and heavy components configured to sink adjacent the bottom. The inlet discharge is located within the tank reservoir to supply effluent mixture to the separation tank. The outlet diffuser is spaced from the inlet discharge and located within the tank reservoir to receive a heavy component of the effluent mixture after separation. The baffle is located within the tank reservoir to separate the inlet discharge from the outlet diffuser. The baffle presents a baffle opening adjacent the static water line.

  • Patent number: 11680669
Abstract: A conduit assembly for a separation device is described herein. The conduit assembly includes a first conduit segment, a second conduit segment, and a removable flow control insert or cartridge, which may be easily installed and uninstalled without removing other components of the conduit assembly from the separation device. The flow control insert may be installed within a top opening of the second conduit segment and includes a projection that extends into the conduit assembly and obstructs or restricts fluid flow at the juncture between the first and second conduit segments.

  • Patent number: 10315135
Abstract: A conduit assembly of a gravity separation device having specialized joint structure for mating first and second conduits to permit easier removal of the first conduit. The first conduit may include a snout having a tube and a collar positioned at an end of the tube. The collar may include a flange extending outward from a center of the tube. The second conduit may have a main body and a saddle at an end of the main body. The saddle may include a track shaped to receive the flange of the collar of the first conduit. The saddle may also have a resiliently separable gateway comprising two opposing projections configured for receiving therebetween and partially enclosing the tube of the snout.

  • Patent number: 7481321
Abstract: An interceptor configured to at least partially separate a mixture of a first material and a second material, the first material being a fluid. The interceptor includes a container having a base and a sidewall portion that extends upwardly from the base to at least partially define a separation chamber configured to receive the mixture and to facilitate separation of the first and second materials. The interceptor further includes an inlet aperture and an inlet diffuser. The inlet aperture is configured to provide fluid communication between the separation chamber and an inlet conduit that delivers the mixture to the interceptor. The inlet diffuser is in fluid communication with the inlet aperture and the inlet diffuser includes a body portion located within the separation chamber and an elongated outlet aperture that extends through the body portion to provide fluid communication between the inlet conduit and the separation chamber.
