  • Patent number: 4790628
Abstract: An axially focusable objective lens is retained in a neutral position in the axial focusing direction by means of at leaast one magnetic member disposed inside or near the ends of magnetic gaps formed by yokes and magnets. The magnetic member is mounted on the periphery of a retaining tube which carries the objective lens and is positioned in the magnetic gaps which exhibit a non-uniform magnetic field distribution so that the magnetic member is subjected to a force acting in a direction in which the potential energy becomes stable. This force is utilized as a magnetic spring in the axial focusing direction. The magnetic spring requires no additional space thereby enabling a reduction in the size of the actuator and achieving excellent temperature characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4789804
Abstract: A bio-sensor is mounted in a container and comprised of a receptor for selectively reacting with a specific biochemical substance in a sample liquid held in the container to bind thereon the specific biochemical substance and a resonator integrated with the receptor for detecting the amount of the specific biochemical substance bound to the receptor in terms of a resonant frequency shift of the resonator. A measuring circuit is connected to the sensor for measuring the resonant frequency shift of the resonator within the container; a switching valve operates during the reaction of the receptor with the specific biochemical substance to charge a sample liquid into the container to contact the sample liquid with the receptor to thereby effect the reaction and operates during the measurement of the resonant frequency shift to replace the sample liquid by a buffer liquid in the container to immerse the sensor in the buffer liquid to thereby prevent a fluctuation of the resonant frequency shift.

  • Patent number: 4780759
Abstract: A recording apparatus receives a video signal containing a horizontal sync signal and a data signal comprised of a given number of image bit data arranged within each horizontal scanning period, and stores the number of image bit data in synchronization with the horizontal sync signal. A voltage-controlled oscillator produces in synchronization with the horizontal sync signal a frequency signal having a frequency higher than that of the sync signal. A divider frequency-divides the frequency signal by a given factor to produce a number of sampling pulses corresponding to the given number of image bit data. A data sampling circuit receives the data signal for sampling therefrom the number of image bit data in response to the corresponding sampling pulses to thereby write the image bit data into memory. Another divider frequency-divides the frequency signal by the product of the given factor and the given number to produce a feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 4752862
Abstract: Art to make the electronic devices immune against the static electricity, so that the circuits are not erroneously operated or broken down by the electric field, by the electromagnetic waves or by the flow of electric charge. In an electronic device which is not grounded, the capacity between an active side 2 and an input line 4 is selected to be smaller than the capacity between a pull side 3 and the input line 4 relying upon the layout of IC pads, relying upon the layout of circuit board patterns, or relying upon the capacitors, and a metal housing is not connected to the active side 2. The electronic device exhibits perfect immunity against the flow of electric charge into the circuit network caused by the discharge of static electricity, against the noise caused by the electromagnetic waves having high energy, and against the electric field where the electric discharge is not taking place, i.e., the electronic device exhibits immunity against all of the phenomena of static electricity.

  • Patent number: 4739264
Abstract: Two Hall effect devices are series-connected to form a magnetic sensor. Each of the Hall effect devices has a pair of Hall terminals for developing a Hall voltage when exposed to an external magnetic field. A comparator compares the potentials of two selected Hall terminals of the different Hall devices with each other to produce a compared signal. A switching element is connected to one of the Hall devices to control the potential of the Hall terminals to equalize the potentials of the two selected Hall terminals in response to the compared signal. Two non-selected Hall terminals develop positive and negative Hall voltages, respectively, relative to the selected Hall terminals so that the magnetic sensor produces a totalized Hall voltage of the two Hall effect devices.

  • Patent number: 4721058
Abstract: An automated drawing system has an automatic drawing machine which receives input data from a central control unit for making a drawing on a roll of drawing paper in accordance with the input data. At the time of making the drawing, the automatic drawing machine also encodes the drawing paper with a bar code pattern representative of the lengthwise and widthwise size of the drawing. The drawing paper is then advanced to a paper cutter system which includes a bar code reader for reading and decoding the bar code pattern and for producing therefrom control signals indicative of the desired lengthwise and widthwise size of the drawing. These control signals are fed to a Y-axis or widthwise cutter and an X-axis or lengthwise cutter which accordingly cut the drawing paper in lengthwise and widthwise directions to obtain a cut piece of drawing paper containing thereon the drawing and having a size determined by the bar code pattern.

  • Patent number: 4713691
Abstract: An interface circuit of video signal hard copy apparatus for optimizing a phase of a sampling clock to an image signal. A delayed signal of a video sync signal is employed for a reference input signal of a sampling clock generation circuit. The delay quantity of the video sync signal is arbitrarily set by a control circuit. The delay quantity corresponding to the point of change of sampled data is detected by a CPU circuit according to the sequential comparison with some of the sampled data of an image signal in the plural delay quantities. A stable sampling can be attained even for a high frequency video signal exceeding 100 MHz by setting the optimum delay quantity according to the detected delay quantity.
