Abstract: Techniques to enable a chat bot system to use metaphors during an interaction with a user are provided. Identification information for the user can be received and can be used to determine a customer group assigned to the user. An initial state of a sequence for resolving an issue of the user can be determined, with the sequence for resolving the issue of the user including a final state wherein the issue of the user is resolved. A metaphor can be selected to include in a question based on the determined customer group assigned to the customer and the determined initial state of the sequence for resolving the issue of the customer. The question can request information from the user relating to the issue of the user. The question can be generated to include the selected metaphor and then provided to the user with a prompt to provide a response.

Abstract: Techniques for monitoring operating statuses of an application and its dependencies are provided. A monitoring application may collect and report the operating status of the monitored application and each dependency. Through use of existing monitoring interfaces, the monitoring application can collect operating status without requiring modification of the underlying monitored application or dependencies. The monitoring application may determine a problem service that is a root cause of an unhealthy state of the monitored application. Dependency analyzer and discovery crawler techniques may automatically configure and update the monitoring application. Machine learning techniques may be used to determine patterns of performance based on system state information associated with performance events and provide health reports relative to a baseline status of the monitored application. Also provided are techniques for testing a response of the monitored application through modifications to API calls.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining alternative plans for a user may include: determining an event status of an event based on one or more parameters, wherein the event status comprises a target event indicator, wherein the one or more parameters comprise event population; obtaining event data of a target event; obtaining transactional data of the user, wherein the transactional data includes transaction time and transaction location; determining, via one or more processors, a likelihood of a potential transaction of the user associated with the target event by processing the transactional data and the event data using a trained machine learning model; and transmitting, to the user, a notification based on the determined likelihood of the potential transaction, wherein the notification includes a suggestion for alternative travel plans of the user.

Abstract: A system may identify a purchase transaction request from a merchant application and generate an in-app payment cryptogram for the purchase transaction request based on a limited use payment credential (LUPC). The in-app payment cryptogram may be provided to the merchant application. The merchant application may transmit the in-app payment cryptogram to a merchant computing device. A request may be received from a payment network to update the LUPC. A security library may be executed to determine that the client device is secure. The execution of the security library may generate a device attestation response, and the device attestation response is transmitted to the payment network. An updated LUPC may be received from the payment network.

The printer controller receives an instruction comprising a first font element and a second font element. An identifier corresponding to the second font element is retrieved from a memory. The printer generates and prints a graphical character that based on the first font element and an augmented symbol corresponding to the identifier.

Abstract: An aerosol-generating system includes an electric heater, a battery and control circuitry. The electric heater is configured to vaporize an aerosol-forming substance. The battery is configured to power the electric heater. The control circuitry is configured to: prevent charging of the battery in response to detecting that the electric heater is in an operation state; or prevent operation of the electric heater in response to detecting that the battery is in a charging state.

Abstract: A device may receive a job request associated with a data processing job, including job timing data specifying a time at which the data processing job is to be executed by a virtual computing environment. The device may receive user data associated with the job request and validate the data processing job based on the user data. In addition, the device may identify a priority associated with the data processing job, based on the user data and the job timing data. The device may provide, to a job queue, job data that corresponds to the data processing job, and monitor the virtual computing environment to determine when virtual resources are available. The device may also determine, based on the monitoring, that a virtual resource is available and, based on the determination and the priority, provide the virtual resource with data that causes execution of the data processing job.

Abstract: A process to determine whether a leak-off event is occurring during the treatment stage of an active borehole. The leak-off event data, such as the severity or magnitude of the potential leak-off, can be communicated to other systems to adjust the treatment stage, the fluid composition, the fluid pressure, or the fluid flow rate. Diverter material can be added to the fluid. The monitoring of the leak-off event can occur over a time interval, such as the time of the treatment stage and periodic adjustments to the treatment stage can be implemented. The leak-off event can be identified when a fluid pressure slope indicates an overall increase in pressure in an adjacent borehole or if the amount of fluid entering an adjacent borehole exceeds a leak-off threshold.

In one example, a method performed by a processing system including at least one processor includes launching a web browser application, wherein the launching includes instantiating a simulated user profile, and wherein the simulated user profile includes a simulated web browsing history, detecting, by the processing system, an item of digital content that is presented to the web browser application in response to the simulated user profile, determining, by the processing system, a relevance of the item of digital content to the simulated user profile, and generating, by the processing system, a report that indicates the relevance of the item of digital content to the user profile.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for acquiring three-dimensional (3D) measurements of object surfaces are provided. In one aspect, an optical scanning system includes: a first digital illuminator configured to illuminate a sequence of first patterns along a first optical path directed upon an object surface, a second digital illuminator configured to illuminate at least one sequence of second patterns along a second optical path onto the object surface, and at least one digital camera disposed facing the object surface and configured to capture both images of the sequence of first patterns reflected from the object surface and images of the at least one sequence of second patterns reflected from the object surface to generate 3D reconstruction data of the object surface. The second optical path is different from the first optical path, and the at least one sequence of second patterns is different from the sequence of first patterns.

Abstract: Systems as described herein may classify entities based on cleansed transactions. An entity classification server may obtain transaction data indicating an entity name and an entity code in a non-standardized format. A recommended entity code in a standardized format may be determined from a remote data store. The entity classification server may generate a score indicating a likelihood that the recommended entity code correctly identifies the entity indicated in the transaction data using a machine classifier. The entity classification server may update the entity code in the transaction data with the recommended entity code based on the score exceeding a threshold value. Accordingly, a transaction summary comprising the transaction data may be generated and provided to a computing device.

Abstract: An image information overlay system retrieves an image associated with a vehicle listing and uses machine learning models to classify the image, generating identification data that may comprise a vehicle make and model, a feature or part of the vehicle present in the image, and a location of the vehicle feature or part. The identification data or an individual identifier of the vehicle, such as a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), may be used to retrieve overlay information related to the vehicle make and model, such as recalls or known maintenance issues or information specific to the vehicle, such as mileage, accident reports, or ownership history. The overlay information is displayed on the image as an overlay at the location of the vehicle feature or part corresponding to the overlay information.

Abstract: Systems and methods using a network of wearable devices to support secure payment for a user are described. The network of wearable devices may include a wearable secure unit including a first short-range transceiver, a wearable sensory unit including a second short-range transceiver, and a wearable communication unit including a third short-range transceiver and a long-range transceiver. The systems and methods may include receiving a transaction request from a merchant device. Thereafter, the systems and methods may obtain information from the wearable secure unit configured to provide an environment in which processes and data are securely stored and executed. The systems and methods may also obtain information from the wearable sensory unit configured to capture and compare biometrics of the user with a stored profile. Based on the obtained information, the systems and methods may instruct the wearable communication unit to transmit to the merchant device user authentication data.

The systems and methods may include receiving, at a cloud compute service, a notification that a sensitive file comprising sensitive data has been received at a file receipt location, the sensitive file being sent by a client device; generating, by the cloud compute service, a container instance in response to the notification; retrieving, by the container instance, the sensitive file from the file receipt location; generating, by the container instance, a stripped file by stripping the sensitive data from the sensitive file based on a configuration file; transmitting, by the container instance, the stripped file to a storage location; deleting the sensitive file and associated file pointers from the file receipt location; and terminating the container instance, wherein terminating the container instance comprises deleting files comprising sensitive data and associated file pointers.
