Abstract: A semiconductor chip 23 is mounted on an island section 22 in a lead frame composed of a lead having the island section 22, a ground-bonding lead section 28 and a lead 21a each continuing in sequence, and other lead terminal sections 21b to 21d, and then a grounding electrode 24a and other electrodes 24b to 24d for the semiconductor chip are respectively wire-bonded to the lead 21a and other lead terminals 21b to 21d by gold wires 25a to 25d before being embedded in a resin to form a package 27. The lead with the semiconductor chip 23 mounted thereon is structured so that the ground-bonding lead section 28 continuing to both the lead 21a and the island section 22 are absent on both the sides of the wire-bonding region 28a with respect to the island section 22 in the longitudinal section along the grounded gold wire 25a.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises an adjusting mechanism that adjusts an interval between an LED head writing an optical image on a photoreceptor and a photoreceptor drum to a reference interval (A), and the adjusting mechanism includes a regulating member attached to the LED head. In the adjustment of the interval between the LED head and the photoreceptor drum, the LED head and the regulating member are integrally moved until the regulating member comes into contact with the photoreceptor drum. The interval between the LED head and the photoreceptor drum is (A-B) at this point. The LED head and the regulating member are moved in the direction opposite to the photoreceptor drum by a distance (B). As a result, the interval between the LED head and the photoreceptor drum is set to the reference interval (A).

Abstract: A first insulating film is formed. Then, a gate electrode of a low voltage drive thin film transistor and a mask film for covering a region constituting a channel of a high voltage drive thin film transistor are formed with a molybdenum film on the first insulating film. An impurity is implanted into a semiconductor film while using the gate electrode and the mask film as a mask, thereby forming a high density impurity region. Thereafter, the impurity is activated by performing a thermal process under a condition at 500° C. and for 2 hours, for example. Subsequently, the mask film is removed and a second insulating film is formed. A gate electrode of the high voltage drive thin film transistor is formed with an aluminum alloy on the second insulating film.
Abstract: A method for using an uplink control channel to transmit a channel quality indicator (CQI) for sub-bands of a frequency bandwidth is described. The uplink control channel is provided in a format. The uplink control channel in the format is capable of carrying more than two bits of information. One or more CQIs are inserted into the uplink control channel. Each of the one or more CQIs is associated with one or more sub-bands of the frequency bandwidth. Each CQI uses up to three bits. The one or more CQIs are transmitted through the uplink control channel from a first device in a persistent scheduling mode to a second device.
Abstract: A multiplex image display device prevents onscreen input buttons from appearing at the same positions. A “command area” refers to an area of the display screen where the user can enter a command for manipulating one of images being simultaneously displayed on the single display section for individual viewing from different directions. In the multiplex image display device, the positioning control section controls the positioning of the command areas so that a command area for one of the images being simultaneously displayed on the display section is displayed at a different (i.e., non-overlapping) position on the display section from a command area for another one of such images.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus provided with liquid crystal compensation plates and ?/4 plates on both sides of a liquid crystal cell, in a sequence that the liquid crystal compensation plates, then the ?/4 plates. Further provided is Rth compensation film between the ?/4 plate and linear polarization film. Set substantially at zero is a retardation Rth1 in a perpendicular direction in a range from the linear polarization films to the ?/4 plates, excluding the ?/4 plates. This gives a retardation (in a perpendicular direction) for optically compensating the liquid crystal cell a closer position to the liquid crystal cell. As a result, a broad angle of visibility can be maintained, without losing a balance between viewing angle characteristics from the above position (or the bottom position) and those from the right position (or the left position), while it is possible to prevent contrast ratio in a front direction from being lowered. Therefore, an LCD having good display quality can be realized.
Abstract: A main controller controls drive of an LSU for irradiating laser light onto a charged photoreceptor, based on control data read from a non-volatile memory. The main controller causes the LSU to irradiate a beam of light onto the photoreceptor so as to form on the photoreceptor an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an image to be formed. A controlling section reads through an image reading section control data from the non-volatile memory at a different timing from a timing at which the main controller controls the LSU. The controlling section controls drive of the LSU based on the read control data.
Abstract: When an error of an image forming apparatus is detected and power conduction is shut off with the error not rectified, information indicating occurrence of the error in the image forming apparatus is displayed on an electronic paper. Thus, an image forming apparatus that can notify the user and service person of the error and develop awareness about the error status of the apparatus even during the time of non-conduction can be provided.
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to improvements in remote network device management, for example remote front panel applications for managing imaging devices and multi-function peripherals (MFP's) in a network. A centralized MFP device management application software tool provides improvement in security and convenience, including a auto-login feature based on stored user credentials. Another aspect of the present disclosure provides for tracking remote device access activity. Still a further aspect of the present disclosure addresses the problem of resolving simultaneous access to the same device either remotely or through a combination of remote and local access. Yet a further aspect of this disclosure relates to enabling concurrent remote access to multiple devices using a single login procedure.
Abstract: A ferrule includes a body having a cylindrical shape. Elastic gripping portions are arranged on the body so as to bulge radially inwardly. The elastic gripping portions can have elastic contact with the outer circumferential surface of a glass tube. The body of the ferrule is mounted to the glass tube via the elastic gripping portions capable of elastic and radial deformation. Thereby, the variations in outer diameter of the glass tube can be absorbed, and therefore the dimensional control with high precision is not required for glass tubes at the time of manufacturing. This leads to cost reduction.

Abstract: A method of separating a protein by gel electrophoresis, which comprises a staining step for bringing a protein-containing sample into contact with a staining liquid containing a staining agent, a surfactant and a buffer solution, and an electrophoresis step for subjecting the protein-containing sample after the staining step to gel electrophoresis. According to the present invention, using a staining liquid containing a surfactant such as SDS and the like, a protein-containing sample can be stained in a short time, and can develop color with high sensitivity. In addition, since an excess staining agent migrates earlier than protein by electrophoresis, a washing operation is not necessary. Furthermore, by staining, after the first dimension electrophoresis, with a staining liquid containing a surfactant such as SDS and the like, the second dimension electrophoresis can be performed immediately.
