Vessels which are fed at a vessel feed position A and carried by the holders 26 are subject to the irradiation of the electron beam at an electron beam irradiation position E, then inverted, and when it reaches the electron beam irradiation position E again, the opposite surface is subject to the irradiation of the electron beam. Vessels 4 are inverted again and then discharged at a vessel discharge position B.

A lower surface of the chip is recognized in a condition that the lower surface of the chip is located to be substantially on a level with a chip bonding surface of the substrate. Positioning of the chip and the substrate is performed by the recognition image.

    Abstract: A vessel mouth gasket unit is fitted around the outer periphery of a valve body which is internally formed with a filled liquid passage. A first gasket having a smaller diameter and a second gasket having a larger diameter is mounted on the lower surface of the unit. The filling valve is made up of a liquid valve opening and closing air cylinder which opens and closes a liquid valve 8 disposed in the filled liquid passage, and a vessel mouth gasket auxiliary air cylinder which urges the unit downward. The valve body has an outer diameter which is greater than the aperture diameter of a bottle-like first type vessel and less than the aperture diameter of a second type vessel having a larger aperture. The operating pressure of the auxiliary air cylinder is controllable and the filling operation takes place by urging the gasket against the first vessel with a low load and by urging the gasket against the second type vessel with a high load.

    Abstract: A metal cap 12 is fitted over a vessel (vial 2), into which a rubber plug 4 is driven, and using a pressure block 10, a load is applied to the cap 12 through the top surface 12b thereof to maintain the rubber plug 4 compressed. Under this condition, a tightening roller 14 folds a skirt (lower end 12c of a cylindrical portion 12a) of the cap 12 inwardly to perform a tightening operation. Subsequently, the load applied to the top surface 12b of the cap is once released, and then a load is applied again starting from a value FB which is less than the load FA applied during the tightening operation, gradually increasing to a higher value. In the course of increasing the load, a load FC at the instant when a displacement in the elevation of the top surface of the cap is detected, and this load FC is determined to be a seal load upon completion of the tightening operation. By detecting the load FC upon completion of the tightening operation, a seal capacity of the rubber plug 14 can be confirmed.

    Abstract: Vessels 2 on a conveying rail 4 are supported by a back guide 8 and are intermittently conveyed by a transfer rake 6. A number of filling nozzles 28 which corresponds to a number of vessels 2 are installed at a filling station F, and the conveying rail has a portion 4A which is elevatable. Metering receptacles 12 connected to load cells 16 are disposed in a manner corresponding to respective filling nozzles 28. These metering receptacles 12 do not contact vessels 2 when the conveying rail portion 4A is raised, but support the vessels when the conveying rail portion 4A is lowered, allowing a mensuration of the weight of vessels 2 by the load cells 16. During a normal filling operation, the conveying rail portion 4A is maintained in its raised position to convey the vessels 2 and performs a filling operation. During a sampling operation, the conveying rail portion 4A is lowered to place vessels 2 on the metering receptacles 12 to perform a mensuration while performing a filling operation.

The cap 5 is rotated through a given angle of rotation as referenced to the incipient position of meshing engagement P, thus threadably engaging the cap 5 with the vessel 2. The invention allows a uniform clamping of cap 5 at the completion of the capping operation.

Inside the gas ejection port is formed a cleaning liquid ejection port. A gas is ejected at a higher speed than that of a cleaning liquid from the cleaning liquid ejection port to transform the cleaning liquid into droplets, which are further accelerated by a tapered portion formed downstream of the minimum diameter portion before being ejected. A small amount of liquid may be supplied to a pressurized gas passage between a powder injection portion and the cleaning nozzle to prevent a possible clogging of passage due to powder.

    Abstract: A plurality of vessel receptacles and load cells are mounted along the outer periphery of a revolving body at an equal circumferential spacing. A filling device is disposed above each of the vessel receptacles. In a first operational mode for filling the receptacles, the tare of each vessel which is supplied onto one of the vessel receptacles is measured and such data is fed to a controller which determines and stores a mean value of measured tares. Subsequently, the operation is switched to a second operational mode for a filling operation. In the second operational mode, no measurement of the tare is made, and the mean value is regarded as representing the tare of supplied vessels for purposes of a filling operation. After a given time interval or after a given number of vessels have been filled, the operation is again switched to the first operational mode where the mean value is again measured. If the new mean value is different from the previous mean value, the stored mean value is rewritten.

    Abstract: A gripper includes grip members which are mounted on a first rotary shaft and a second rotary shaft, respectively, so as to be opened and closed. An engaging pawl is formed on an upper surface of the grip member. Both shafts are elevatable in an integral manner. A receptacle member is disposed below an exit star-wheel, and is arranged to rotate integrally with the star-wheel. The gripper is located below the flange of the vessel when receiving the vessel. Accordingly, the engaging pawl cannot contact the flange. When the vessel is depressed by the capping head during a capping operation, the engaging pawl engages the vessel. When the vessel is discharged, the vessel remains suspended above the receptacle member, and the gripper then descends to place the vessel on the receptacle member and to disengage the engaging pawl of the gripper. Accordingly, there is no scarring of the vessel when the vessel is introduced into and discharged from the screw capper, and a stable conveyance of vessels is enabled.
