Abstract: Disclosed herein is a refuge comprising a roof; at least four wall members each fixedly attached to the roof, wherein the refuge has a width of 60 inches or less, and wherein each wall member comprises a ballistic material; a door disposed in a first wall member, wherein the door has a width of at least 18 inches; a power system disposed within the enclosure, the power system comprising a primary power source and a secondary power source; and an armored air purification system configured to provide purified air to the enclosure.
