  • Patent number: 9118934
Abstract: A server is provided. The server comprises a processor, a memory, and an application stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, receives a progressively uploaded media stream from a remote electronic device. The application also converts the progressively uploaded media stream from a first format to a second format and buffers the converted media stream. The application also transmits the buffered converted media stream to a bridge into a media local area network based on a mapping of the remote electronic device to the media local area network, wherein the mapping is stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 9118767
Abstract: A user communication device establishes a first call with a first caller. During the first call, the user communication device receives a call alert for a second call from a second caller. In response to receiving the call alert during the first call, the user communication device presents an option to the user to combine the first caller audio with second caller audio and to transfer the user audio for delivery to the second caller and not to the first caller. The user communication device receives an instruction from the user, and in response, receives and transfers the user audio for delivery to the second caller and not to the first caller. The user communication device receives and plays the first caller audio and the second caller audio.

  • Patent number: 9118721
Abstract: Systems and methods for assigning unique network identifiers in a packet-switched wireless network are provided. A request for a unique network identifier for a wireless device is received. A socket-based unique network identifier, including an IP address and one or more ports, is assigned to the wireless device. The unique network identifier is created by combining an IP address and one or more ports. This allows multiple unique network identifiers to be created from a single IP address, where each unique network identifier consists of the same IP address combined with a different group of one or more ports.

  • Publication number: 20150236986
Abstract: A communication system transfers user data messages to users. The system stores the user data messages in association with message stream identifiers and message delivery metrics. The system processes the message delivery metrics to enter the user data messages into a plurality of delivery queues associated with multiple message transmission systems. The system receives a data request indicating a message stream identifier and a message transmission system, and in response, identifies a message set and associated delivery metrics. The system receives a data instruction indicating new delivery metrics, and in response, re-enters the message set into the delivery queue. The communication system transfers the user data messages based on their associated delivery queues over data networks for receipt by the users.

  • Patent number: 9113293
Abstract: Methods and systems for displaying location uncertainty of locations of mobile devices are provided. A location of a mobile device may be determined using a location system. The mobile device can be associated with a location service that locates the mobile device. The location system identifies the location of the mobile device that is an approximation of the location of the mobile device. An uncertainty region for the location of the mobile device is identified. The uncertainty region determines an extent of geographic data that is displayed on a location diagram based on a correlation between the uncertainty region and the extent of geographic data. The extent of geographic data that corresponds to the uncertainty region is determined. The location associated with the uncertainty region is communicated such that the location is displayed on the location diagram with the extent of geographic data using the obscuring feature.

  • Patent number: 9112998
Abstract: Methods, media, and network devices are provided for detecting errors in caller identifier records. A caller name provider is identified for a terminating endpoint that is a recipient of a communication from a transmitting device. The caller name provider receives queries for caller identifier information that will be transmitted to the terminating endpoint. The caller name provider returns records having the caller identifiers in response to the queries. When the records contain an error, the caller name providers receive update requests from a calling party of the transmitting device. The update requests include changes to the records that correct the errors.
