Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, an apparatus and a rotor for homogenizing a medium. The invention may be utilized in all areas of industry where mere homogenisation of a medium or mixing of at least two flowing media is needed. A preferred application of the invention can be found in pulp and paper making industry where various chemicals have to be mixed with fiber suspensions. A characterizing feature of the invention is the symmetry of the homogenising operation in the homogenising chamber.

Abstract: A pump for the transporting of fluids and/or of mixtures of fluids includes a housing (1) and at least one restrictor gap seal which is provided in the housing (1) to reduce the pressure in a restrictor gap along a rotatable part (2) of the pump, wherein the restrictor gap seal is formed as a brush seal arrangement (8). The brush seal arrangement (8) contains one or more individual brush seals (8?) which include as sealing members a plurality of sealingly arranged fibers, bristles and/or wires (8a) which are distributed and fastened in ring form and whose free ends extend towards the surface to be sealed.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a centrifugal pump and an impeller thereof. The present invention especially relates to modifying an impeller of a centrifugal pump in such a way that the pump may be used without a risk of damaging a shaft seal or the like at capacities higher than that at the optimal operating point. A characterizing feature of a centrifugal pump, comprising a pump volute (2), a rear wall (4) of the pump, an impeller (20) having a shroud (22) and balancing holes extending through the shroud, the impeller being attached on the pump shaft (6) and rotating inside the volute (2), is that the balancing holes (26) are arranged through the shroud (22) in such a way that an opening (30) of the holes (26) in the front face of the impeller shroud (22) is both in the rotational direction and ahead of an opening (32) located in the rear face of the impeller shroud (22) and closer to the axis (8) of the pump than the opening (32) in the rear face of the impeller shroud (22).
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sealing arrangement for attaching a side plate often used with a pump volute of a centrifugal pump and an attachment screw used therewith. A characterizing feature of the sealing arrangement for attaching the side plate of a centrifugal pump, comprising at least a pump volute (10) and a side plate (130) with attachment screws (132) and flanges (164) of the screws (132) arranged in communication with the volute (10) or the cover of the casing, is that an annular seal (180) is arranged between the screw (132) and the volute or the cover of the casing.
Abstract: A flow machine for a fluid is presented with a radial sealing gap (9) between stator parts (4) and a rotor (3), wherein at least one wear ring (5) is provided at the sealing gap and is fastened to a stator part (4) via an elastically deformable fastening part. The fastening part (6) is connected on the one side to the stator part (4). On this side a radial gap (8) is formed between an outer jacket surface of the wear ring and the fastening part and, on the other side, with the wear ring. On this side a radial gap (7) is formed between an outer jacket surface of the fastening part and the stator part.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a gas separation apparatus, a front wall and a separation rotor thereof. The invention especially relates to the modification of the separation rotor and/or the front wall of the gas separation apparatus in such a way that liquid or liquid suspension separated from a mixture containing gas and liquid or liquid suspension by means of said separation rotor may be recirculated as simply as possible back to the process flow at the same time as the gas separated from said liquid or liquid suspension is guided out of the process.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a centrifugal pump and a static seal of the dynamic sealing thereof. The invention especially relates to modifying the attachment of said static seal and a seal cover acting as a counter ring thereof in such a way that, for example, when the static seal wears, the clearance thereof can be adjusted without a need to stop the pump. A characteristic feature of a centrifugal pump in accordance with the invention, comprising, among other things, a pump housing (72), a shaft (12), an impeller arranged on the shaft and a dynamic seal (30, 32) arranged in connection with the shaft (12), and a static seal arranged in connection with the shaft (12) behind the dynamic seal as seen from the impeller, said static seal comprising a flexible seal means (50) on the shaft (12) and a stationary counter ring thereof, is that a seal cover (62) including a stationary counter ring (60) is adjustable in the axial direction of the pump.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new kind of a mechanical seal, a so called slide ring seal, which is used, for example, for sealing a shaft space of a centrifugal pump in relation to a pumping space thereof. The present invention especially relates both to centering said mechanical seal and/or fastening said mechanical seal to the casing of said centrifugal pump and a body part used for the attachment. A characterizing feature of a mechanical seal in accordance with the present invention, comprising at least one rotary slide ring unit (24, 24?, 24?), a body part by means of which said seal is attached to said casing (16), and at least one either separate counter ring unit (42, 42?) or a counter ring unit (42, 42?) stationarily attached to said body part, is that said body part (40, 40?) is provided with inclined fastening means (52), by means of which the body part (40, 40?) is tightened to the casing both axially and radially.
Abstract: An arrangement (10) for the determination of the mass flow and of the gas/flow ratio in a multiphase mixture during conveying includes—in the conveying direction (9)—a first venturi nozzle (5.1), a pump (1) and, after the pump, a second venturi nozzle (5.2).
Abstract: The high pressure rotary pump in a pot housing includes a pressure cap (3). The latter has a flange part with a flange (4) with which the pressure cap is fastened to an end face and annular sealing surface (20) of a housing (2) by being screwed into place. The flange is elastically deformed by being screwed into place. The sealing surface of the housing in the region of a base zone of the flange stands in contact on this with a second sealing surface (40). The two sealing surfaces (20, 40) lie on two at least approximately radially extending conical or annular surfaces prior to the being screwed up. These two surfaces enclose an angle ? which opens outwardly with respect to a central axis (101). After the screwing into place of the flange, the two sealing surfaces are pressed onto one another due to its elastic deformations and thus the angle between the sealing surfaces is equal to zero.
