Abstract: According to the present invention, a hollow molded article of high quality can be produced by conducting the following steps of:
providing a small-sized molding machine comprising a mold having a pair of mold halves wherein at least one of the mold halves comprises a body and a slidable block;
supplying a resin in an unsolidified state between the mold halves to fill a mold cavity having a first clearance with the resin;
supplying a pressured fluid into the resin lying between the mold surfaces;
moving the slidable block from a first position to a second position;
opening the mold until a cavity clearance becomes a second clearance which is larger than the first clearance; and
opening the mold to take out the hollow molded article.
Abstract: Provided is an epoxy resin composition comprising:
(A) an epoxy compound represented by the general formula (1):
wherein, R1 to R9 represent each independently a hydrogen atom, an acyclic or cyclic alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group or a halogen atom,
(B) a polyfunctional epoxy compound having a functional group number of two or more, and
(C) an epoxy curing agent containing a phenolic hydroxyl group,
wherein the proportion of the epoxy compound (A) is from 1 to 99% by weight based on the total weight of the epoxy compounds (A) and (B).
The epoxy resin composition has low moisture absorption and other properties well-balanced for use as a material for encapsulating electronic parts.
Abstract: Provided is a manufacturing method of a compound semiconductor having at least one layer of carbon-doped p-type semiconductor epitaxial layer by a MOVPE process, wherein carbon trichloride bromide is used as a carbon source of carbon to be added to the p-type semiconductor epitaxial layer. In the method the etching amount during growth is relatively small, and carbon can be added to a high concentration even with a large MOVPE apparatus.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for producing acrylic acid which involves subjecting an acrylic acid-containing aqueous solution obtained by catalytic vapor phase oxidation of propylene and/or acrolein to evaporation whereby an acrylic acid-containing vapor is obtained; and subjecting the acrylic acid-containing vapor to azeotropic dehydration. The present invention offers a number of advantages including a reduce amount of polymer that may adhere to the surface of an azeotropic dehydration column, a low-blowing separation column or an in a high-boiling separation column in a plant for producing acrylic acid. Consequently, the production plant can be operated for a long time without stopping operations.
Abstract: There is provided a process for producing N-substituted azetidine-.2-carboxylic acid of the formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 denotes an aralkyl group or an arylated lower alkoxycarbonyl group and * designates an asymmetric carbon atom, which is characterized by:reacting an N-substituted azetidine-2-carboxylic acid ester of the formula II: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 has the same meaning as defined above and R.sup.2 denotes an alkyl group, an aralkyl group or an allyl group, with an enzyme capable of selectively hydrolyzing a stereoisomer based on the carbon atom of the 2-position of the azetidine ring.
Abstract: A method for producing a catalyst component-carrying titania fibers is provided, which has large specific surface area, large pore volume and a high catalyst activity. The method comprises steps of adding a catalyst component to the solution of a titanium alkoxide or to the hydrosis/polymerizatin reaction mixture and/or to the spinning solution, and treating a precursor fiber with water vapor before and/or during calcination.

Abstract: A disclosed process for producing a molded article made of fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material includes providing a molding machine containing a plasticizing apparatus having an opening for receiving raw materials, an apparatus for feeding the raw materials to the plasticizing apparatus and a molding apparatus having a cavity; feeding both thermoplastic material in a solid state and reinforcing fibers with a length from about 3 mm to about 50 mm simultaneously into the plasticizing apparatus through the opening from the feeding apparatus; melting the thermoplastic material and kneading the thermoplastic material and the reinforcing fibers in the plasticizing apparatus to produce kneaded material comprising the thermoplastic material and the reinforcing fibers; supplying the kneaded material to the molding apparatus from the plasticizing apparatus; and molding the kneaded material into the molded article in the cavity is provided.

Abstract: Provided is a composite film comprising a continuous phase of para-oriented aromatic polyamide and a phase of low-dielectric resin, said film having a dielectric constant at 1 MHz of not more than 3.2 and a linear thermal expansion coefficient at 200 to 300.degree. C. of within .+-.50.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. The composite film has characteristics such as a low dielectric constant, favorable mechanical strength, homogeneous structure, light weight, and a low linear thermal expansion coefficient, and the film is useful as a base substrate for a flexible printed circuit board.

Abstract: A polypropylene composition for a laminated and oriented film comprising (A) 73 to 97% by weight of a crystalline propylene random copolymer having a propylene content of 60 to 97% by weight, an ethylene content of 0 to 6% by weight and an .alpha.-olefin content of 3 to 40% by weight, (B) 2.5 to 17% by weight of a propylene- .alpha.-olefin random copolymer having a propylene content of 35 to 75% by weight and an .alpha.-olefin content of 25 to 65% by weight, and (c) 0.5 to 10% by weight of a crystalline propylene polymer. A polypropylene composition for a laminated and oriented film being film-formed for a long time without hurting a transparency and a low temperature heat-sealing property and having an excellent solvent resistance and an excellent hot-tack property, and a laminated and oriented film having this composition on a surface layer are provided.

Abstract: Tick controlling agent which comprises 1-(tetrahydrofuran-3-yl) methyl-3-methyl-2-nitroguanidine as an active ingredient has an excellent efficacy for controlling ticks. Abstract: A device for the production of a semiconductor compound by means of a metal organic vapor phase epitaxy method, has a structure including a metallic member disposed at a part brought into contact with an upstream flow of a raw material gas and another part for growing a compound semiconductor, wherein the metallic member is cooled to not higher than 300.degree. C. The present invention provides a device for the production of a semiconductor compound with high productivity using a metallic material, wherein processing precision is high and the risk of breakage is low.

Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition including at least (1) a heat-treated composition obtained by heat-treating dynamically a specific polypropylene and an olefin copolymer rubber in the presence of an organic peroxide and a crosslinking agent and (2) a specified polypropylene. In addition, an inorganic filler can be added to the thermoplastic resin composition. These compositions are superior in mechanical properties such as flexural modulus, thermal rigidity resistance and impact resistance, and can be suitably used as materials for home electric parts and the like.
Abstract: A continuous fiber of titania are made having an average diameter per a monofilament of from 5 to 50 .mu.m, which has a BET specific surface area of 10 m.sup.2 /g or more, a pore volume of 0.05 cc/g or more, a volume of pores having a pore diameter of not less than 10 angstroms being 0.02 cc/g or more and an average tensile strength per a monofilament of 0.1 GPa or more, or which has an average tensile strength per a monofilament of 0.5 GPa or more.
