Abstract: Disclosed is a device for applying tension to the free ends of a curtain track draw cord that is looped about a pulley at one end of the track. The device consists of a first member containing two parallel channels to acept the free ends of the draw cord and second member, attached to a second pulley block at the opposite end of the curtain track, to which the first member is secured to trap the cords therebetween. The second member contains tubular passageways opposite and perpendicular to the channels in the first member in which are contained coil springs, ball bearings are located between the springs and the draw cords cause the cords to frictionally engage the walls of the channels and maintain tension in the cords lying within the curtain track.
Abstract: Components for forming a drawer or other tray-like structure comprise hollow wall members, conveniently plastics extrusions, defining mortice sockets in their ends, and corner or front connecting members, conveniently plastics mouldings, having tenons engageable in said sockets and retained by triangular or similar detents which snap-engage with complementary apertures in walls of the sockets. The detents are carried on the free ends of resilient tongues, which free ends are directed away from the free ends of the tenons, and edge faces of the detents diverge away from their leading tips to a substantially broader abutment part which may include an undercut abutment face for greater security. Provision may be made for the tenons to be glued as well as or instead of being solely retained by the detents, of which the following is a specification.
Abstract: Dispenser for web material in roll form comprises a box or like container in which the roll is rotatably received, and which defines a web path which extends between first and second members, the first member being a severing member pivotally mounted for rocking movement about an axis transverse to said path and having a serrated or other tearing edge across an outer part of the path against which an outer end part of the web can be pulled at an angle for severance from the roll and a ridged or other clamping portion inwardly of said axis for cooperation with the second member so that when the web is pulled against said tearing edge an inner part of the web is automatically clamped against outward movement. The dispenser is particularly useful for domestic paper towelling, plastics film or foil.
