Abstract: A road surface heating apparatus for repairing a deteriorated asphalt paved road includes an air shut out device with skirt members surrounding the heating panel so as to prevent air from entering into the heating apparatus, thereby restraining smoke generation. The generated smoke is filtered and purified by an after-burner and a catalyst burner and then exhausted, thus air pollution problems at the work site are solved.
Abstract: Disclosed are a method of and an apparatus for producing a heated recyled asphalt mixture, in which a new material and a normal-temperature waste material, the water content of which is set at a limited range of values, are adapted to be mixed together in the ratio of (90 to 40):(10 to 60) in terms of weight. The temperature of heating the new material by means of a dryer is controlled to range from 190.degree. C. to 350.degree. C. so as to be in conformity with the above mixing weight ratio. Both the materials are mixed and kneaded together in a mixer at a kneading temperature of 150.degree. C. or more. The gas generated within the mixer is exhausted toward a chimney in a state wherein the amount exhausted is made adjustable.
Abstract: A working material for construction or repair comprising (A) a mixture of 0.5 to 30% by weight of (a-1) a hydroxide of a divalent or higher basic metal, 10 to 99% by weight of (a-2) an aggregate and 0.5 to 70% of (a-3) a bituminous substance, the total amount of these materials (a-1), (a-2) and (a-3) being 100% by weight, and covering the mixture (A), (C) oxidized rosin or a mixture of (C) oxidized rosin with (D) a compound containing more than one carboxy group per molecule on an average and/or (B) a liquid hydrocarbon or a vegetable oil.

Abstract: A scarifier suspended beneath the body of an automotive vehicle such that it is vertically movable by means of cylinders. It comprises a suspending frame provided on a main frame vertically movable by means of the cylinders so that it may be freely slidable in the widthwise direction of the vehicle body, a plurality of supporting bars horizontally disposed within the suspending frame so that they may extend in the longitudinal direction of the suspending frame and so that any two adjacent bars may be connected in series to each other by means of a pin, said supporting bars being each connected to a cylinder vertically provided on the suspending frame so that each bar may be inclined in the longitudinal direction, and a multiplicity of claws provided, at prescribed intervals, on the supporting bars by way of pins in such a manner that they extend downwards from the pins and that they are swingable about the pins.
Abstract: Disclosed is a road surface heating vehicle as well as a gas supply system therefor. The vehicle is provided with heating panels and a gas tank. It further comprises a plurality of vaporizers connected in parallel to each other by a gas line and a liquid line. The gas line is connected to the heating panels via its branch lines. The gas and liquid lines are each mounted with a solenoid valve and a pressure adjusting valve. The gas tank is equipped with necessary instruments involved, the vehicle having a body equipped with an operating board containing a microcomputer which automatically makes its control operation based on the use of the associated members, in such a way as to keep the gaseous pressure to fall within a specified range of levels. The system comprises members corresponding to the above-mentioned members constituting the vehicle, including a microcomputer adapted to automatically control the gaseous pressure so that the same may be kept within a specified range of levels.
Abstract: A road surface layer reproducing machine is characterized by its rotor unit which is provided with a mixing chamber housing the rotors for scarifying and mixing the asphalt pavement in an atmosphere of a high temperature higher than the temperature of open air to facilitate such a scarifying and mixing operation of the asphalt pavement, which mixing chamber is kept at such a high temperature by the operation of heating means such as a heater and a hot air blower, and is vertically driven through power cylinders.
Abstract: The paved road surface reproducing apparatus consists of first and second self-propelled, steerable working trucks. The first truck is equipped with: a road surface heater; a pair of gas cylinder tables mounted on both sides of the truck which can be raised or lowered by lifts; a hopper for receiving a bituminous mixture from outside; and a conveyor for transporting the mixture form the hopper to the rear part of the truck. The second truck is equipped with: a hopper for receiving the bituminous mixture transferred from the first truck; a conveyor for transporting the mixture received from the hopper to the rear part of the truck; a powdery oil-absorber scattering device to minimize rutting; a small size road surface heater; a scarifier; a softening agent scattering device; and a rotor; and also equipped with a first screw spreader; a first screed; a second screw spreader; and a second screed in tandem at the rear part of the truck.
Abstract: Disclosed is an automotive rolling machine having a main frame section and a lengthy roller equipped to at least one side of the main frame section. The roller is tapered at the outer peripheries of its end portions, whereby, at the time of changing the advancing direction of the roller, the paved surface is not damaged by the outer peripheral angular portions of the roller. The main frame section has a frame at the front and rear end portions of which slider guides are laterally equipped in such a manner that sliders are slidably fitted into the slider guides. At the central portions of the sides of the frame, center pins are vertically supported. And to the underside of the center pins are fixed the central portions of lower frame members supporting the rollers as viewed in the longitudinal direction. The front and rear end portions of the lower frame members are connected to the sliders so that the lower frame members may be movable with respect to the sliders. Thus, the machine has high steerability.
Abstract: An epoxy resin composition is provided consisting essentially of(a) an epoxy compound having at least two epoxy groups in each of its molecules,(b) an ester of a mercaptoalkylcarboxylic acid having on an average more than two thiol groups in each of its molecules and in which the number of carbon atoms of the alkylene groups between the ester groups and the thiol groups is in excess of one on an average, and(c) a tertiary amine-type curing accelerator. This resin composition is used for new construction or repairs either as such or in the form of a construction material obtained by mixing this composition with aggregates and optionally with additives.
