  • Patent number: 5004043
Abstract: Apparatus (10) for the evaporation of liquids or for the absorption or degassing of two-substance or multi-substance solutions of the interior tube falling film type of construction, with a pressure tank (12) through which a heat exchanging medium can pass, whose interior contains a plurality of vertical parallel tubes (22) set apart from one another which open in a bell (26; 24) placed on the bottom and on the top of the pressure tank, the upper ends of the tubes projecting above the upper side of the top place of the pressure tank. On the upper bell (24) there is provided an inlet (36) for the liquid or solution, and a connection (38) for the input or output of evaporated liquid or gaseous solution component, and on the bottom bell there is provided an outlet (34) for liquid or liquid solution. At a distance above the mouths of the tubes (22) a dividing plate (42) is inserted into the bell, which has a plurality of bores (44) of small diameter.

  • Patent number: 4955931
Abstract: The resorptive thermal conversion apparatus operating with a binary refrigerant such as a mixture of ammonia and water and having at least one compression machine and one expansion machine, has two solution circuits (I; II) coupled with one another, in which thermal energy at different pressure and temperature levels in each is put in or removed for resorption or absorption, as the case may be. The gaseous refrigerant component driven by evaporation from the rich solution of the one solution circuit (I) which is at a low pressure level is compressed by the compression machine (26) to the higher pressure level of this circuit, and the gaseous refrigerant component of the other solution circuit driven out of the rich solution at the higher pressure level of the other solution circuit (II) is expanded by an expansion machine (46) to the lower pressure level of this other solution circuit. The two solution circuits (I; II) are directly coupled at an intermediate pressure level (p.sub.

  • Patent number: 4918945
Abstract: Binary solution compressive heat pump or refrigeration machine, consisting of an evaporator (12) connected by a pipeline branch (18) to at least one inserted solvent pump (36) and by a second pipeline branch (30) to an inserted throttling member (32) with a condenser (20) to form a solution circuit. Between the pipeline branches (18; 30) heat is transferred by means of a temperature exchanger (38) from the rich solution flowing from the condenser (20) to the evaporator (12) to the poor solution flowing from the evaporator (12) to the condenser (20). Furthermore, heat contained in the rich solution issuing from the temperature exchanger is used for the additional evaporation of the poor solution fed to the temperature exchanger. The gaseous refrigerant expelled from the rich solution in the evaporator (12) is pumped by a compressor (24) with pressure elevation to the condenser and there resorbed in the poor solution.

  • Patent number: 4780967
Abstract: Method and apparatus for drying paper webs continuously manufactured in paper machines, by the use of process steam produced by a two-substance compression heat pump with a solution-circuit.A portion of the thermal energy needed for the drying process is obtained from process steam produced by the heat pump from the waste heat contained in the moist exhaust air of the paper machine, and another portion from preheated ambient air, which is then used for drying the paper web. The ambient air is preheated by using it to cool the rich solution of the heat pump.

  • Patent number: 4702081
Abstract: The plant has a steam generator connected to a multi-part steam turbine which drives an electrical generator and has intermediate superheaters between the turbine parts. It is driven by steam supplied at supercritical pressure by the steam generator. A second electrical generator is driven by a multi-part gas turbine with multiple expansion and intermediate heating of the turbine gases. The heated turbine gases issuing from the gas turbine are fed to heating surfaces in the steam generator and to a preheater, connected to the latter, for the condensate flowing in the steam circuit back to the steam boiler. The turbine gas heaters integrated with the intermediate superheaters in the steam circuit are formed in a boiler fired with fossil fuels.

  • Patent number: 4594857
Abstract: Heat pumps, refrigeration machines, heat transformers and the like which function on the resorption principle using a binary working medium, especially a mixture of ammonia and water, operate with two solvent circuits in which the working medium that is in the liquid phase is raised from a lower to a higher pressure level and expanded back to the lower pressure level, an interconnecting conduit existing between the solvent circuits on the low-pressure side and high-pressure side in which vaporous working medium is exchanged. To compensate for differences occurring during operation in the volume and concentration of the working medium in the two circuits, a compensating conduit for flowing liquid working medium of different concentration is provided parallel to one of the two conduits for the vaporous working medium.
