  • Patent number: 3966230
Abstract: A bicycle frame of relatively large diameter tubing formed of a light weight, high strength metal tubing, such as titanium, is provided with integral stiffeners at the top of the seat tube, the bottom of the down tube and the top of the fork blades. In larger sizes of frames, stiffeners may also be included at the bottom of the seat tube and at the top of the down tube. The placement of stiffeners at these selected locations results in overall frame stiffness characteristics not previously considered achievable without substantial increase in the weight of the frame. As an additional feature, the enlarged diameter of the down tube is reduced at appropriate locations to enable standard gear shift lever and control cable fittings to be used.

  • Patent number: 3965979
Abstract: An orienting system for a kickover tool to permit the installation and/or removal of well equipment from a side pocket mandrel. The system includes a double orienting means to position the kickover tool in a non-aligned position as the tool moves downwardly and in an aligned position as the tool moves upwardly and a single key on the kickover tool to engage each of the orienting means. This abstract is neither intended to define the invention of the application which, of course, is measured by the claims, nor is it intended to be limiting as to the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 3945855
Abstract: Improved alloys suitable for thermoelectric applications and having the general formula:(AgSbTe.sub.2).sub.1.sub.-x + (GeTe).sub.xwherein x has a value of about 0.80 and 0.85, have been found to possess unexpectedly high thermoelectric properties such as efficiency index, as well as other improved physical properties.

  • Patent number: 3942895
Abstract: A linear digital readout assembly for milling machines and the like and structure for mounting the same to the machine, comprising a preassembled, prealigned scale and reading head assembly, with the scale and reading head, respectively, carried by adjacent, relatively movable parts of the machine and operatively connected to a digital display unit to give a visual digital indication of relative movement between said movable parts of the machine, and unique mounting structure securing the scale to one of said movable parts and securing the reading head to the other of said movable parts, said mounting structure enabling said scale and reading head to be secured to the respective parts of the machine with a minimum amount of effort and in a minimum amount of time and resulting in a durable, accurate and economical digital indicator for relative movements between the parts of the machine.

  • Patent number: 3938056
Abstract: Method and apparatus are described for reducing amplifier distortion by establishing a first signal at a first frequency to be amplified in an amplifier which while amplifying the first signal produces a second undesired signal at another frequency, producing on a cycle by cycle basis of the first signal a third signal at the other frequency, adjusting by no more than substantially 180.degree. the relative phase and amplitude of the first and third signals for mutual cancellation of the second and third signals and then amplifying the first signal in the amplifier and reducing the power of signals at the other frequency relative to the power of the amplifier signal at the first frequency. Examples are given where the second signal is a harmonic or an intermodulation frequency signal of the first signal.

  • Patent number: RE28782
Abstract: A circuit is provided in a traveling-wave tube package which eliminates the need of manually setting the power supply voltage to match the proper operating voltage of the tube. The circuit utilized within the traveling-wave tube package forms a part of the power supply, the remainder of which is provided externally of the traveling-wave tube package. By selecting the proper circuit components, the traveling-wave tube package can be connected without adjustment to a power supply and still operates at the desired voltage.
