Publication number: 20170238344Abstract: Systems and methods for providing random access in a cellular communications network are disclosed. In general, the cellular communications network is an Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation (OFDM) based cellular communications network (e.g., a 3GPP LTE cellular communications network) or similar multi-subcarrier based cellular communications network. Random access is performed using a Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) including subcarriers having a subcarrier frequency spacing that is equal to a subcarrier frequency spacing in one or more other channels of the uplink (e.g., a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH)). As a result, the subcarriers in the PRACH are orthogonal to the subcarriers in the other channel(s) of the uplink, which in turn reduces, or substantially eliminates, interference between the PRACH subcarriers and the subcarriers of the other channel(s) of the uplink.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2014Publication date: August 17, 2017Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Erricsson (PUBL)Inventors: Neil McGowan, Marthinus Willem Da Silveira

Publication number: 20160149913Abstract: A node (17, 21) in an information centric network (ICN) receives a first identifier associated with an information object. The node (17, 21) causes creation of a virtual node (18) in the ICN, for holding a mapping between a second identifier and the first identifier. The second identifier is assigned to a copy of the information object stored in the ICN. The node (17, 21) causes creation of the virtual node (18) such that the mapping is arranged to cease after a predetermined event. The virtual node (18) is created with the sole purpose of providing copies of the information object to a small number of requestors (14), and possibly to just one requestor (14). Ceasing the mapping after delivery of the one copy, or the few copies, of the information object prevents unauthorised retrieval of the information object.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2013Publication date: May 26, 2016Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Erricsson (Publ)Inventors: Anders E. Patent number: 9304801Abstract: An efficient elastic enforcement layer (EEL) for realizing security policies is deployed in a cloud computing environment based on a split architecture framework. The split architecture network includes a controller coupled to switches. When the controller receives a packet originating from a source VM, it extracts an application identifier from the received packet that identifies an application running on the source VM. Based on the application identifier, the controller determines a chain of middlebox types. The controller further determines middlebox instances based on current availability of resources. The controller then adds a set of rules to the switches to cause the switches to forward the packet toward the destination VM via the middlebox instances.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2012Date of Patent: April 5, 2016Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Erricsson (publ)Inventors: Tommy Koorevaar, Makan Pourzandi, Ying Zhang

Publication number: 20150319715Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and user equipment, UE, in a wireless communication network of performing power scaling on uplink transmission to a receiving radio access node, RAN. In particular, the disclosure relates to a method and user equipment for power scaling on uplink transmissions on a multi-radio access bearer, multi-RAB, wherein a Dedicated Physical Data Channel, DPDCH, and enhanced Data Channels, E-DCHs are configured for uplink transmission from the UE to the receiving RAN. The method comprises determining a total UE transmit power exceeding a predetermined maximum power limit value. The total UE transmit power is reduced to the predetermined maximum power limit value by reducing one or more E-DPDCH gain factors by an equal scaling factor. When a predetermined minimum E-DPDCH gain factor, ‘smallest quantised ?ed,k value’, is reached for all E-DPDCH gain factors ?ed,k, and DTX is applied for all E-DPDCHs, the method comprises applying DTX on E-DPCCH.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2014Publication date: November 5, 2015Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERRICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Cagatay Konuskan, Billy Hogan, Andreas Andersson

Patent number: 9178799Abstract: A method forward Ethernet frames at a node in a network supporting an implementation of shortest path bridging (SPB) protocol is disclosed. The method starts with a shortest path computation for the node (referred to as the computing node). The shortest path computation selects at least a shortest path to each destination node in the network, where a neighboring node on the shortest path to reach each node is recorded. Then it computes a downstream loop-free alternate (LFA) node for a destination node, where the LFA node is downstream of the computing node but not on the selected shortest path to the destination node from the computing node. Then when connectivity to the neighboring node on the computed shortest path is detected to be abnormal, the node forwards an Ethernet frame with a destination media access control (MAC) address corresponding to the destination node through the LFA node.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2013Date of Patent: November 3, 2015Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERRICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: David Ian Allan, Panagiotis Saltsidis, János Farkas, András Császár, Evgeny Tantsura

Publication number: 20130301402Abstract: A label switched path through a network of nodes, is torn down by sending a message along the path from an ingress node. If there is a fault along the path, a path error message (2) is sent back along the path to the ingress node. The ingress node uses a different route bypassing the fault to alert (3) a further one of the nodes (NE5, NE6) on that path beyond the indicated fault, to cause that further node to continue the tearing down for other nodes on that path beyond the indicated fault by sending a further message (4) along the portion of the path beyond the indicated fault, to indicate to the other nodes to continue the tear down. This enables the ingress node to clean up the rest of the path beyond the fault, to avoid leaving unused capacity unavailable for reuse, and to avoid time consuming manual clean up.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2011Publication date: November 14, 2013Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Erricsson (publ)Inventors: Daniele Ceccarelli, Diego Caviglia, Francesco Fondelli
