Abstract: In order to advantageously solve problems such as lowering of the productivity, contamination of alloy coating due to the adoption of different metal, increase of the cost due to the adoption of different coating process, a coating of MCrAlX alloy is directly formed on a substrate surface of a member exposed to a high temperature at a thickness of 10.about.300 .mu.m through atmospheric plasma spraying process in air or flame spraying process (including low-velocity flame spraying process, high-velocity flame spraying process) and thereafter the same MCrAlX alloy is applied thereonto at a thickness of 100.about.800 .mu.m through low pressure plasma spraying process in a non-oxidizing atmosphere.
Abstract: A composite steel sheet including a steel base member; an undercoat having opposed surfaces and a thickness of 10-750 .mu.m obtained by spraying one or more spraying materials selected from metals, non-oxide ceramics, oxide ceramics and cermets onto the steel base member. The undercoat has an oxide layer of not less then 0.5 .mu.m in thickness on one of the opposed surfaces positioned away from said steel base member. A fired topcoat is formed on the oxide layer of the undercoat from a vitreous coating having a linear expansion coefficient of 4-11.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C.
Abstract: In order to control the precipitation and formation of a deposition produced in an inner face portion of a heat transmitting tube for a boiler due to a boiler water and the formation of an oxide scale of a tube material due to overheated steam, there is provided a heat transmitting tube for a boiler provided with a porous sprayed coating. The porous sprayed coating is formed by using a metal.multidot.alloy having excellent high temperature oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance at high temperature as compared with a material of the heat transmitting tube onto an outer heat receiving surface for contacting a combustion gas, and optionally an oxide ceramic, and optionally an oxide cermet. Solid inorganic sintered fin particles are penetrated and filled in opening pores of the porous sprayed coating and form a heat shielding layer on the surface of the porous sprayed coating.
Abstract: To provide heat-resistant alloy members that maintain the resistance to corrosion at high temperature of the chromized layer formed on Ni- or Co-base heat-resistant alloys and which yet are improved in various mechanical properties. The improved Ni- or Co-base heat-resistant alloy member having a chromized layer that is characterized by having a chromium concentration of 25-80% and a thickness of 10-100 .mu.m. This member is produced by controlling both the vapor pressure of a chromium halide being used in chromization and the temperature therefor in such a way that the chromized layer being formed is adjusted to have a chromium concentration and a thickness within the ranges specified above.
Abstract: An electrostatic chuck member includes a metal substrate, an undercoat of a metallic spray-coated layer and a topcoat of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 TiO.sub.2 based spray-coated layer containing a Ti.sub.n O.sub.2n-1, where n=1-9, compound. The electrostatic chuck member has a large volume resistivity, a small scattering, and the quality is stable. A method for making the electrostatic chuck member includes subjecting a metal substrate to a blast treatment, spray-coating a metallic undercoat on a surface of the metal substrate, and spray-coating Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 TiO.sub.2 on to the metallic undercoat to form a Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 -TiO.sub.2 based layer in which at least a portion of the TiO.sub.2 is changed into Ti.sub.n O.sub.2, where n=1-9.

Abstract: Thermally sprayed coatings made from carbides of metals having greater carbon affinity than Cr in the presence of free carbon, or thermally sprayed coatings made from carbides of metals having smaller carbon affinity than Cr are heat treated in a chromium halide containing atmosphere which also contains hydrogen gas, whereby activated metallic Cr is precipitated in a fine particulate form, which is allowed to act on the thermally sprayed coatings, whereupon a Cr.sub.23 C.sub.6 -form carbide is created not only on the coating surface but also in its interior, particularly within pores, to form a modified layer, thereby compositing the thermally sprayed coatings.
