Abstract: This invention relates to the development of nanoparticles, which can be used as tracers, in order to track the movement of fluids injected into an oil reservoir. The injected fluids diffuse through a solid geological medium which constitutes the oil reservoir, thus making it possible to study this latter by following the path of the injected fluids. The objective is in particular to monitor the flows between the injection well(s) and the production well(s) and/or to evaluate the volumes of oil in reserve and water in the reservoir and ultimately to optimize oil exploration and exploitation.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for characterising the evolution of a reservoir over a time lapse comprising the steps of: providing a base and a plurality of monitor surveys of the reservoir, each having a set of seismic traces at different times; deriving an optimal regularization weight-map from a combination of at least three surveys; and using the optimal regularization weights to invert and obtain an improved time lapse seismic image between pairs of seismic surveys.
Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatuses for improving pool skimmers. In some embodiments, the apparatus is a pool skimmer basket system that includes a skimmer basket, a first tube that is attached to the skimmer basket, and a second tube that is adjacent to and rotatable relative to the first tube. The first tube includes a longitudinal slot that feeds water into the skimmer basket. Without being bound by any particular theory, it is believed that the slot increases the velocity of water flowing into the basket and that the system increases the debris-holding capacity and allows one to avoid having to reach through dirty water to remove the skimmer basket.
