Abstract: The invention pertains to a method of installing a grip on a hand held implement. The method includes the steps of providing a grip with a tubular body, closed end, open end, and cup-shaped flange about the open end, deforming the flange so that is is spaced from the tubular body and forms a gap therewith; stretching the flange over a collar of a vacuum chamber; exposing the grip to a vacuum; inserting the hand held implement into the grip; releasing the vacuum; and then severing the cup-shaped flange from the grip.
Abstract: A rearview mirror is connected to a frame for the eyewear, the rearview mirror being movable between a use position spaced from the frame and a storage position juxtaposed to the frame. A seat is defined in the frame so that the mirror is receivable in that seat when in the storage position, thereby tending to minimize breakage of the device upon inadvertent contact with a user's hand or clothing when the mirror is stored.
Abstract: A headband with earmuffs where, in preferred form, the headband is fabricated from a stretchable material configured to incorporate a generally flat insulative pad interiorly of that band for each of the wearer's ears. Preferably the headband is fabricated from a one piece fabric blank folded upon itself to establish a generally tubular cross-sectional configuration with the insulative pads stitched to that blank interiorly of the tubular headband.
Abstract: A portable directory and note pad tray with several features. A first feature is a directory with a cover movable between open and closed positions that activates a light bulb circuit for lighting the directory cards when the cover is opened and deactivates the circuit for turning out the light bulb when the cover is closed. A second feature is a novel slide track, and slide arm structure by which the directory and tray are mountable to and de-mountable from a desired surface to present an optimum mounting angle for that surface. A third feature is a note pad tray with a novel base that includes a first finger gap in one of the tray's upstanding walls to allow individual sheets of a note pad to be easily removed from the tray, and a pencil recess defined in the tray with a magnetically attachable pencil that cooperates with a second finger gap in one of the tray's walls to allow easy removal of the pencil.
Abstract: A grip for the handle of a hand held implement of the type that is comprised of a thin wall stretchable tubular member radially stretchable upon exposure to a vacuum which allows for insertion of a handle, the tubular member being sized and configured to contract into a tight friction fit with the handle when the vacuum is released. With this type grip, an outwardly flaring generally cup-shaped flange is formed integral with the tubular member at an open end. The flange has a maximum radial dimension relative to the tubular member's longitudinal axis, at least twice the minimum radial dimension of the tubular member. The flange is sized and configured so that its outer periphery can be provided with a stable cuff, that stable cuff being stretchable over a collar on a vacuum chamber without significantly stretching the tubular member during installation of the grip on the handle.
