  • Publication number: 20210237602
Abstract: A method for a dynamic inductive wireless power transmission includes providing an AC/DC power converter that receives three-phase power and provides regulated DC output current, connecting a trunk cable to the AC/DC power converter output and to multiple power transmitter modules. The trunk cable connects inputs of the power transmitter modules in series. The power transmitter modules transmit inductive wireless power over an air gap. The method includes providing a system controller that detects a vehicle containing a receiver coil and confirms if the vehicle should receive the inductive wireless power from the multiple power transmitter modules, and includes configuring the system controller to communicate with the AC/DC power converter to maintain the regulated DC output current at a constant value and transmit the inductive wireless power to the vehicle through the multiple power transmitter modules when the vehicle should receive the inductive wireless power.

Abstract: A system for biomolecule identification by terahertz sensing, an asymmetric triple split-rectangular (ATSR) metamaterial biosensor, and a method for biomolecule identification by terahertz sensing are presented. The asymmetric triple split-rectangular (ATSR) metamaterial biosensor includes three gap areas which highly confine an electric field. The biosensor includes an E-shaped structure facing an inverted E-shaped structure with gaps between the respective legs. Each leg has a specially designed extension on either side which increases the electric field. A terahertz laser interrogates an analyte upon the metamaterial structure with a plurality of frequencies. The amplitude difference is estimated by an amplitude difference referencing technique. The amplitude difference is matched to a database record to identify the biomolecule analyte.

Abstract: An automatic nut internal thread quality tester is provided. The automatic nut internal thread quality tester includes a blanking module, a clamping module, a push rod module, a thread gauge driving module, and an axial pushing module. The blanking module is configured to control the nuts to be tested be blanked in series. The clamping module is configured to clamp the to-be-tested nut. The push rod module is configured to push the to-be-tested nut into the clamping module and restrict the blanking. A thread gauge of the thread gauge driving module is driven by a motor to detect the to-be-tested nut. When a torque measured by a torque sensor is greater than a threshold value, the motor reverses the thread gauge and the axial pushing module drives the clamping module away from the thread gauge.

  • Publication number: 20210242086
Abstract: A method of removing semiconducting layers from a substrate, in particular, III-nitride-based semiconductor layers from a III-nitride-based substrate, with an attached film, using a peeling technique. The method comprises forming the semiconductor layers into island-like patterns on the substrate via an epitaxial lateral overgrowth method, with a horizontal trench extending inwards from the sides of the layers. Stress is induced in the layers by raising or lowering the temperature, and applying pressure to the attached film, such that the film firmly fits a shape of the layers. Differences in thermal expansion between the substrate and the film attached to the layers initiates a crack at an interface between the layers and the substrate, so that the layers can be removed from the substrate. Once the layers are removed, the substrate can be recycled, resulting in cost savings for device fabrication.

Abstract: A system for determining a characteristic of a laser includes a collection housing receiving a laser beam comprising a first pulse, a second pulse and a time period between the first pulse and the second pulse. A photon counting detector receives photons from the laser beam disposed to generate photon signals from the laser beam and generating a start signal. A fast diode generates a stop signal to provide a time reference of counted photons ns. A controller is coupled to the photon counting detector and the fast diode. The controller counts photons from the photon counting detector occurring during the time period between the first and second pulse and generates a first output signal corresponding to a power during the time period between the first pulse and the second pulse.

Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to improve signal modulation resolution. A coarse phase modulation element 62A modulates a signal into any of M1 (M1 is an arbitrary integer) patterns in a first range. Fine phase modulation elements 62B-1 through 62B-(k?1) respectively modulate the signal into any of M2 through Mk (M2 through Mk are arbitrary integers that are independent of each other and M1) patterns in a second range through k-th range (k is an integer of 2 or greater). A coarse DAC 61A and DACs 61B-1 through 61B-(k?1) perform control such that the second range through k-th range become narrower than the first range.
