Patents Assigned to Verzon Patent and Licensing Inc.
  • Patent number: 11356934
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for location-based handling of discovery requests in a service-based network in which different instances of network functions (“NFs”) may be deployed in geographically diverse locations. For example, a Network Repository Function (“NRF”) may maintain location information for the various NF instances and may respond to discovery requests by identifying particular NF instances based on locations associated with the discovery requests. For example, such discovery requests may include a “preferred-locality” parameter or some other indication of location associated with the discovery request, based on which the NRF may identify one or more NF instances to provide in response to the discovery request.

  • Patent number: 11272569
Abstract: An orchestration device may receive a request to register available multi-access edge computing (MEC) resources to be shared with a network operator. For example, the available MEC resources may be provided by a provider operating a MEC host located in an edge region of a radio access network (RAN) associated with the network operator. The orchestration device may receive information related to a requested MEC session to support an application workload for a user equipment in communication with a base station located in the edge region of the RAN and assign at least a portion of the application workload to the MEC host based on a profile for the MEC host and a service level agreement specifying one or more performance requirements associated with the application workload. Accordingly, the orchestration device may cause the portion of the application workload to be transmitted to the MEC host.

  • Patent number: 11229012
Abstract: A device may send a first message to a user device requesting information identifying a radio access technology (RAT) or a band supported by and enabled on the user device. The device may receive an indication of the RAT or band supported by and enabled on the user device and send, to the user device, a second message instructing the user device to modify the RAT or band enabled on the user device. The second message may include an indication of updated RAT or band information. The device may receive from the user device, a confirmation that the RAT or band enabled on the user device has been modified.

  • Patent number: 11223560
Abstract: Systems and methods provide a unified collection service for a network. A first network device receives a data reporting message from a data reporting device. The data reporting message includes a first format for a particular data reporting device. The first network device adds routing data to the data reporting message to create an encapsulated data reporting message and forwards the encapsulated data reporting message to a second network device. The second network device transforms the encapsulated data reporting message into a second format that includes a unified message format and forwards, based on the routing data, the unified data reporting message.

  • Patent number: 11184647
Abstract: An illustrative interactive content delivery system includes an interactive content player device (player device) and an interactive content provider system (provider system). As the provider system transmits a live video stream to the player device, the player device detects a first event marker in the live video stream, accesses an executable data object including data representative of an interactive content instance, and executes, based on the executable data object, the interactive content instance in accordance with interactive input provided by a user of the player device. During the executing of the interactive content instance, the player device detects a second event marker in the live video stream and subsequently discontinues the executing of the interactive content instance. Corresponding methods and systems are disclosed for both the provider system and the player device of the interactive content delivery system.

  • Patent number: 10929891
Abstract: A device can receive, from a user device, a request associated with a data service that includes one or more service identifiers. The device can determine whether the data service is toll-free by providing, to a server, a validation request that includes the one or more service identifiers. The device can receive a response from the server that indicates that the user device is eligible to use the data service toll-free. The device can obtain an internet protocol (IP) address that is reserved for the data service by using a service identifier to search a data structure. The device can provide the IP address to the user device to allow the user device to use the IP address for a data session. Traffic flow for the data session can be received by another server that uses the IP address to update an account of an entity sponsoring the data service.
