Patent number: 8210624Abstract: A self-closing drawer slide has a housing with a linear channel extending therein at an inner end of an outer longitudinal section. A catch is slidably mounted within the channel and has pivot pins 36 extending out either side thereof (only one side is shown) into corresponding slots in the sides of the channel. The catch is symmetrical about a longitudinal centre line of the housing and rocks rearward to unlock and engage a latch on an inner longitudinal section and forward to lock and release the latch. The catch is biased to slide to an inner end of the channel when the catch is unlocked and there are no external forces on the slide.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2008Date of Patent: July 3, 2012Assignee: Waterloo Furniture Components Ltd.Inventor: Samuel Jurja

Patent number: 6601812Abstract: A keyboard support assembly includes first and second arms which interconnect from a desktop mounting plate to a keyboard support platform. The first arm connects directly by pivot connections between the desk mounting plate and the keyboard support platform. The second arm connects from the desk mounting plate to the first arm and acts as a brace for the first arm. A locking wedge mechanism locks the arms together when weight is placed on the support platform due to engagement of an actuating arm which projects from the keyboard support platform and activates the wedge mechanism. Release of the weight or force on the platform releases the wedge locking mechanism and permits pivotal movement of the arms and reorientation of the platform.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2002Date of Patent: August 5, 2003Assignee: Waterloo Furniture Components, Ltd.Inventors: James L. LeClair, Borge Peterson

Patent number: 6238024Abstract: In a multi-drawer filing cabinet arrangement of vertically disposed drawers mounted on progressive telescopic two or three channel drawer slides, with an interlock mechanism, an improved connecting stub is used. Field installation, assembly, disassembly, replacement or repair of particular cabinet drawer or interlock mechanism can now be accomplished due to the arrangement and configuration of an improved connecting stub for use in an interlock mechanism without taking the file cabinet apart. The connecting stub comprises a partial pocket where the arc segment subtended by the partial pocket is more than 180 degrees and has a predetermined length, thereby allowing lateral or transverse insertion and removal of an associated vertical actuator locking vertical connecting rod without taking the whole filing cabinet apart.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1999Date of Patent: May 29, 2001Assignee: Waterloo Furniture Components, Ltd.Inventor: Kenneth R. Patent number: 6155661Abstract: The present invention relates to a drawer slide assembly with an integral latch mechanism to inhibit inadvertent opening of a drawer. The structure of the present invention comprises an outer slide member and an inner slide member. The inner slide member is slidably engaged to the outer slide member. The structure includes an aperture in one of the slide members. A bearing is positioned to removably engage the aperture when the drawer slide assembly is in the closed position thereby forming a latch detent mechanism. The bearing is resiliently seated in a bearing retaining structure mounted on the drawer slide structure. The bearing retaining structure is provided with an element for providing a biasing force onto the bearing. This biasing force urges the bearing toward engagement with the aperture. When the bearing engages the aperture the inner slide member is held against slidable movement with respect to the outer slide member.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1997Date of Patent: December 5, 2000Assignee: Waterloo Furniture Components Ltd.Inventors: Kevin O'Neil, Kenneth R. Patent number: 5832840Abstract: The present invention relates to a tilt adjustable mousing surface mounting bracket. This mounting bracket operates between a primary work surface and a secondary work surface. The adjustable bracket includes a mounting section which is associated with the secondary work surface. The mounting section is pivotally associated with a pivot joint which is in turn mounted on the primary work surface. The pivot joint allows for both pivotal movement and tilting movement of the secondary work surface. In addition, the bracket includes a means for securing the pivot joint against movement whereby the secondary work surface can be locked into place.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1995Date of Patent: November 10, 1998Assignee: Waterloo Furniture Components, Ltd.Inventor: Michael Woof

Patent number: 5257767Abstract: An adjustable platform support mechanism for a keyboard includes a platform and a connecting assembly for the platform. The connecting assembly is attached to the platform by means of first and second pivotal connecting arms. The quadrilateral formed by connecting the pivots is in all instances a non-parallelogram. Thereby the platform, when moved from an extended position to a storage position, is pivoted upwardly in order to increase the space available in the kneehole underneath the desk. The shelf also features an adjustable tilt mechanism associated with keyboard platform support bracket so that the operator will be able to adjust the platform to any one of a number of tilt positions.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 1992Date of Patent: November 2, 1993Assignee: Waterloo Furniture Components, Ltd.Inventor: Dale K.
