Patents Assigned to WCR Company
  • Patent number: 7049957
Abstract: A positioning system includes a command signal generator, a subject module, a plurality of sensor modules, and a plurality of counters. A comparator compares the plurality of increments and generate a plurality of counter differential values; and a correlator correlates the plurality of counter differential values to determine a subject location in the defined space. A method for locating a subject includes transmitting a signal to a subject unit; transmitting a signal to slave units located within the defined three-dimensional space, such that each slave unit starts a 1 GHz counter; transmitting a subject signal from the subject unit; stopping said counters; determining net counter values; comparing the net counter values to determine counter difference values; and correlating said counter difference values to determine a subject unit location in the three-dimensional space.

  • Patent number: 7001334
Abstract: An integrated subject monitoring system facilitates measurement, collection and analysis of data pertaining to the health status of a subject. The system includes a network-coupled computer and subsystems monitoring subject location within a defined space and the curtilage thereof and obtaining measurements of a subject's physiological or behavioral/cognitive parameters within the defined space. Parameter data is obtained primarily passively, without the cooperation or active participation of the subject. A method of monitoring the physiological and behavioral/cognitive health status of an ambulatory subject involves monitoring in a primarily passive fashion, irrespective of the active collaboration of the subject. Subject health indicia parameters are continuously monitored, sampled and recorded. Captured values are compared to initial baseline values established for each of the measured parameters as well as to the trend for the parameter of that subject.

  • Patent number: 6998979
Abstract: The local area positioning system (LAPS) slave receiver is an extremely sensitive, ultra low noise, high speed up-converting microwave receiver operating in the 900 Mhz to 1.6 Ghz frequency range and is designed for use with a positioning system. The receiver, which may include fiber optic links, allows detection and switching of high speed short duration pulses used to control an associated highly stable 1.0 Ghz start/stop event counter. The receiver, in combination with the counter, is capable of measuring RF propagation distances with an accuracy of 12 inches.

  • Patent number: 6821258
Abstract: An integrated subject monitoring system facilitates measurement, collection and analysis of data pertaining to frequency and intensity of movement by a recumbent subject. The system includes a network-coupled computer and sensors placed in a bed or other resting surface of the subject. Parameter data is obtained primarily passively, without the cooperation or active participation of the subject. Subject parameters can be continuously monitored, sampled and recorded. Captured values then can be compared to initial baseline values for a measured parameter as well as to the trend the parameter of that subject. Readings falling outside the boundaries can trigger a signal to be sent to an appropriate party. The system preferably further includes a location monitoring or tracking subsystem for determining a subject's location within a defined space. Location data from the subsystem can be used to identify the subject being measured by the sensors in the bed.
