  • Patent number: 8366126
Abstract: A hand truck allows for the transportation of containers, where each container has a passageway therethrough. The hand truck has a flat bottom member that receives and supports a vertical stack of the containers and vertical members are affixed to the bottom member. Cross members are joined to the one or more vertical members, and each cross member has a rod-receiving hole that is formed therein such that the holes are vertically spaced apart from each other. The hand truck also has a plurality of elongate support rods. A first end of each support rod is inserted through the container passageway, is inserted into a respective cross member hole, and is fastened to the cross member to prevent its withdrawal. A second end of each support rod is enlarged so as to affix the container or containers to the respective cross member.

  • Patent number: 8157201
Abstract: A container for the dispensing of wire or cable has an external carton which receives a reel of cable supported by two caddies. Each caddy has an inwardly extending substantially cylindrical bushing which is received in a central hole of a respective cable reel flange. The cylindrical bushings are disposed on an axis which is a first distance from an upper surface of a bottom panel of the carton. The largest radius of the reel flanges is preselected to be smaller than this first distance such that the reel may freely rotate inside of the carton on the bushings. Cable is pulled through a slot in the carton's front panel. Left and right panels of the carton each have an arbor hole formed therein which may receive an axial rod, the rod also extending through the reel and caddies. The axial rod may be used to join two or more cartons together and may further serve as a support for attachment to a dolly, hand truck, or four-wheeled cart.

  • Patent number: 7945549
Abstract: A computer-assisted design tool for identifying, specifying, ordering, pulling, connecting and labeling one or more types of electrical cable at a job site uses a job plan as a primary organizing concept. The job plan has one or more applications for which the cable is to be provided and one or more device types to which one of several possible cable types is to be connected. Each device type is associated with one or more locations at which the identified device is located at the site. For each location, a cable length and number of pulls are specified, and a markup legend code is stored to show how the cable length should be marked up to indicate the location to which the cable length is to be connected. The design tool automatically generates markup legend images based on the stored markup codes and enables the user to order all cable requirements for the job over the Internet. The tool also generates comprehensive documentation for the job to be installed, including box labels and wire tags.

  • Publication number: 20110042502
Abstract: A vehicle for the transportation of containers of reeled cable has a frame, and an upstanding security locker with an access panel and holes in one panel. A plurality of support rods have first ends that are received into the holes in the panel. Removable retaining devices are attached to the first ends of the rods so that the support rods cannot be removed from the locker unless the retaining devices are removed. The security locker encloses both the first ends of the rods and the retaining devices and has an access panel such that provides access to the locker. The security locker may be included on a hand truck or a four wheeled cart and include a loop for securing the cart or hand truck to a fixed anchor point.
