Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to chewing gum compositions having an improved sweetener release profile. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to chewing gum compositions comprising a combination of high potency sweeteners that includes at least one steviol glycoside and at least one high potency sweetener other than the steviol glycoside that does not demonstrate cross-adaptation with the steviol glycoside. When incorporated into chewing gum compositions, this combination of high potency sweeteners may be used to provide a consistent sweetness profile to the gum for extended periods of chewing.
Abstract: Color indicating chewing gum compositions comprising one or more color compounds are provided. The compositions demonstrate a visual color or shade change from start of chewing to the end of chewing and provide oral health benefits. Methods of producing a color changing chewing gum are also provided.
Abstract: The present invention is direct to an edible composition in which fruit, vegetables and/or nuts, in conjunction with a hydrocolloid, are treated with pressure and/or heat to form an edible composition that is dimensionally stable, ambient stable for at least 12 months, has a moisture content greater than 50 wt. %, has a pH less than 4.5, has a water activity greater than 0.5, is commercially sterile, is free of artificial flavors, has a solids content greater than 10 wt. %, and does not exhibit syneresis. Also provided is a method for preparation of the edible composition.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to chewy confectionery products. More specifically, the present disclosure is directed to uncoated chewy confectionery products comprising starch as a hydrocolloid, sucrose, and a glucose syrup. The uncoated chewy confectionery products are shape stable, shelf stable, and less sticky than traditional chewy confectionery products. Advantageously, the chewy confectionery products of the present disclosure have a texture similar to traditional chewy confectionery products, but do not require a protective coating or wrapper to maintain their stability.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a cover assembly and a packaging box, wherein the cover assembly comprises: a shield provided with an opening; a sliding cover slidably arranged on the shield; a lid located between the shield and the sliding cover and rotatably connected to the shield, so that the opening can be opened or closed under the drive of the sliding cover. The cover assembly provided by the disclosure can directly drive the lid to move by means of the sliding cover during the sliding process, so that the lid can open or close the opening, with the whole structure being small and delicate, easy to operate for the user, and at the same time reducing the cost of the cover assembly to ensure the storage of stuff inside the box body of the packaging box.
Abstract: The present invention is direct to an co-fruit pulp based edible composition in which an agricultural fruit byproduct base material, in conjunction with a hydrocolloid, is treated with pressure and/or heat to form an edible composition that is dimensionally stable, ambient stable for at least 9 months, has a moisture content greater than 50 wt. %, has a pH less than 4.5, has a water activity greater than 0.5, is commercially sterile, is free of artificial flavors and/or artificial colors, has a solids content greater than 10 wt. %, and does not exhibit syneresis or exhibits syneresis. Alternatively, the base material contains an edible fruit and/or vegetable and/or nut byproduct alone or in combination with the co-fruit pulp. Also provided is a method for preparation of the edible composition.
Abstract: A reclosable hard shell transparent container for a confectionary product includes an inner graphic branding element extending interior to the receptacle, an outer graphic branding element extending exterior to the receptacle, and overwrap layer that collectively provide visually superimposed branding graphics to provide visually distinct packages utilizing the same container. The inner graphic layer facilitates a subassembly of the confectionary products for ease of loading the confectionary product in the container.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to edible organogel compositions that comprise an organogelator and a flavor component, and processes for preparing the organogel compositions. The organogelator is ethyl cellulose or a combination of ethyl cellulose and an edible wax, preferably candelilla wax, rice bran wax, carnauba wax, paraffin, beeswax, polyethylene wax or combinations thereof. The ethyl cellulose preferably has an average ethoxyl content of from 45.0% to 47.0% by weight of the ethyl cellulose or from 48.0% to 49.5% by weight of the ethyl cellulose. The organogel compositions may be included as the flavor component in confectionery products, such as chewing gums.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a chewable matrix that can be used as a tool for collection of saliva samples. Also disclosed herein are methods for extracting saliva, and in particular microorganisms or nucleic acid, from the chewable matrix, methods for detecting an illness or infection in subjects using the chewable matrix, and kits for performing these methods.
