  • Patent number: 10807313
Abstract: A profile body of a not liquefiable material is used as a connecting element between a first object and a second object. The profile body may especially be metallic and/or may be bendable. The profile body, in contrast to a conventional wire, however, has a shape defining a first and a second undercut. The method includes embedding the profile body in the second object so that the second undercut is within material of the second object, and embedding the profile body within material of the first object so that the first undercut is within the first object, and wherein at least embedding of the profile body in the first object is caused by mechanical energy impinging on the first object and/or on the second object while the first object and the second object are pressed against each other.

  • Patent number: 10780644
Abstract: A method for joining two objects by anchoring an insert portion provided on a first object in an opening provided on a second object. The anchorage is achieved by liquefaction of a thermoplastic material and interpenetration of the liquefied material and a penetrable material, the two materials being arranged on opposite surfaces of the insert portion and the wall of the opening. During the step of inserting the insert portion in the opening and/or during anchorage a clamping force is applied to opposing surfaces of the second object to prevent the second object from cracking or bulging.

  • Patent number: 10758372
Abstract: A method of implanting a contact implant includes providing the contact implant, providing a plurality of anchoring implants having a plurality of through openings, placing the contact implant at an implantation location, and introducing a first one of the anchoring implants through a first of the plurality of through openings. Mechanical oscillations are applied, along a first axis, to the first one of the anchoring implants, thereby causing thermoplastic material of the implant to liquefy and interpenetrate portions of the tissue. A second one of the anchoring implants is introduced through a second one of the through openings to bring it in contact with the live tissue. Mechanical oscillations are applied, along a second axis, to the second one of the anchoring implants to cause thermoplastic material to be liquefied. The first and first and second axes are at a nonzero angle to each other.

  • Patent number: 10363077
Abstract: A perforated sheath is anchored in a tissue opening with the aid of a tool, wherein the anchorage is achieved with the aid of mechanical vibration and a material which is liquefiable by the vibration. The tool includes a vibrating element and a counter element. Distal portions of both elements are introduced into the sheath to be in contact with each other at an interface. The vibrating element is connected to a vibration source and the vibrating element and the counter element are held against each other for effecting liquefaction of the liquefiable material at the interface.
