Abstract: A waste developer collecting device comprising: a collecting container; a collecting opening; a conveying unit; a filter; a partition wall; and an air inlet.
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a charging device and a photoreceptor adjacent the charging device. The charging device transfers a charge to the photoreceptor. Also, a charge patterning device is adjacent the photoreceptor. The patterning device patterns the charge on the photoreceptor to form a latent image charge. Additionally, an automated cleaning device is adjacent the charging device. The charge patterning device periodically moves by the charging device and the charge patterning device to simultaneously clean the charging device and the charge patterning device.
Abstract: An image processing system such as a multi-function device (MFD) with an “e-reader” mode is disclosed. The e-reader mode can be activated by a user from the MFD user interface, or automatically detected by the system if the mode is set to “auto.” Once in e-reader mode, the system automatically locates the area corresponding to the e-reader screen, crops it, de-skews it when necessary, and enhances the image. In addition, N-Up (printing several pages of content on one physical page) may be applied if users desire. The enhancement adjusts background color, boosts the contrast, and de-blurs the image when necessary. Two embodiments of enhancement are presented. The first one performs Tone Reproduction Curve (TRC) adjustment and possible de-blurring on the entire screen area. The second one segments the screen area into three kinds of objects (text/picture/background). Different TRCs are applied to enhance the objects.
Abstract: An image forming method including: forming a liquid receiving particle layer on an intermediate transfer member using a liquid receiving particle that is capable of receiving a recording liquid including a recording material; forming an image of the recording material on a surface of the liquid receiving particle layer by applying a liquid droplet of the recording liquid to the liquid receiving particle layer on the basis of image data and holding the recording material on the surface of the liquid receiving particle layer on the intermediate transfer member; applying a transfer auxiliary liquid in at least a portion of a formation range of the image; and transferring the liquid receiving particle layer to which the recording liquid is applied to a transfer receiving member from the intermediate transfer member, such that the image is interposed between the transfer receiving member and the liquid receiving particle layer is provided.
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing device which aims for appropriate settings and simplification of printing functions. In a print server, when a print job is received, an application name used in a client terminal is specified from a drawing command of the print job, and standard settings of printing functions provided for each application are read from database files. Thereafter, the standard settings and settings of printing functions of the print job are compared. When the settings are different, after carrying out a warning processing, setting of printing functions based on the standard settings is carried out, and image processing and printing processing based on the set printing functions are executed. In this way, while simplifying settings of printing functions in the client terminal, image processing and printing processing by appropriate printing functions are possible.

Abstract: A cartridge and method that is useful in installing an endless belt in one or more modules of a belt containing system is disclosed. The cartridge may include at least two internal cartridge rolls around which said belt is wound, a traveling roll around which belt is positioned, and gear racks on which said traveling roll will move, said belt being movably connected on one end to one of said internal cartridge rolls and on an opposite end to said traveling roll, end caps located at each end of said internal cartridge rolls, said end caps and internal cartridge rolls having conduits therethrough, and a sheath to cover and contain said internal cartridge rolls.
Abstract: A latch apparatus has a latch base, a latch frame, and at least one flexible bracket connecting the latch frame to the latch base. Connectors are used to connect the flexible bracket to the latch frame and connect the flexible bracket to the latch base. The connectors prevent the outer surface of the flexible bracket from moving along the surface of the latch frame or the surface of the latch base. A biasing member is connected to the latch base and the latch frame. The flexible bracket maintains a gap between the latch base and the latch frame and prevents the latch base from contacting or sliding along the latch frame.

Abstract: The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to charging devices which produce a negative corona. The present embodiments pertain to the use of a positive charging device, such as a scorotron, after the erase lamp and before negative charging station in the xerographic cyclic to mitigate the undesirable changes in charge transport layer electrical properties that result from exposure to corona while negatively charging the photoreceptor during latent image formation.

Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, a first conversion unit converts, on the basis of an input device profile, input data into first device-independent data expressed by a color space that is independent of an apparatus. A storage unit stores plural conversion profiles for converting using a color appearance model in the color space that is independent of the apparatus in correspondence with plural device characteristics that are dependent on apparatuses. A selection unit selects a conversion profile corresponding to characteristics of the input device, characteristics of an output device, observation conditions of the input data and the output data. A second conversion unit converts, on basis of the selected conversion profile, the first device-independent data into second device-independent data. A third conversion unit converts the second device-independent data into the output data on the basis of an output device profile.
