  • Patent number: 4684889
Abstract: An object which can provide a reference for measuring the intensity of a primary magnetic field, is positioned in the vicinity of a subject being examined. A variation in the primary magnetic field intensity is detected, based on a frequency shift of data observed of the object, and is used to control the primary magnetic field intensity, or reference frequency for phase detection, or to correct image data. In this manner image quality is prevented from being degraded due to the variation of the primary magnetic field intensity.

  • Patent number: 4683754
Abstract: A capacitive displacement type transducer, wherein the oscillation frequency of a self-excited oscillator circuit including a pair of differential capacitors formed with a movable electrode disposed between two outer electrodes is counted by a counter, the output level of the counter is reversed each time a certain count is attained to cause the differential capacitances to be switched alternatively, and to make identical the respective reversal periods, and application voltage to be applied to the differential capacitors being controlled by an integrator, and a voltage relating to the output of the integrator being applied through a fixed impedance to the movable electrode, thereby eliminating fixed capacitances formed across the difference capacitors. Also, a voltage generated by dividing and averaging the output level of the counter by use of a certain pulse duration of a monostable circuit operating in synchronism with a counter, is used to compensate for static pressure changes.

  • Patent number: 4663592
Abstract: The static magnetic fields of an NMR imaging apparatus should be maintained constant in intensity in order to obtain satisfactory NMR images. Coils used to generate the static magnetic fields, and the supporting frames therefor, are subject to heat expansion due to changes in the temperature, which causes fluctuations in the intensity of the generated static magnetic fields. In the invention, the temperatures of the coils, frames, atmosphere and cooling water, and the amount of cooling water, are detected, and the energizing current for the static magnetic field coils is selectively controlled, based on the detected quantities, to thereby maintain constant the intensity of the generated static magnetic fields.

  • Patent number: 4652810
Abstract: In conventional subminiature current transformers, voltage withstandability property is not reliable and frequency characteristics are inferior. The current transformer of the invention, advantageously, is able to withstand high voltages and also has other advantageous characteristics. A primary coil and a secondary coil are wound about individual bobbins disposed on two L-shaped legs connected together to form a square "O" shaped core. Compensation for various errors is accomplished by a condenser and a resistor connected between the input and output terminals of an operational amplifier (of the integrated circuit type) which is connected to the output of the secondary coil. The primary and secondary core areas are selectively controlled as to the currents applied to enable the transformer to withstand the high voltages.

  • Patent number: 4651097
Abstract: In an examination method and apparatus utilizing nuclear magnetic resonance, high frequency pulses for producing nuclear magnetic resonance are applied by successively imposing a first 90.degree. pulse, a first 180.degree. pulse, a second 90.degree. pulse, and a second 180.degree. pulse substantially immediately after the second 90.degree. pulse, and a next pulse sequence is initiated upon elapse of a wait time after the second 180.degree. pulse has been applied. The wait time is rendered much shorter than the conventional prior art wait times for high speed scanning operation, by forcibly aligning magnetization M first with the direction of a -Z direction axis and then with the direction of a +Z direction axis, using the second 90.degree. pulse and the second 180.degree. pulse. By applying a number of first 180.degree. pulses, a number of nuclear magentic resonance signals are produced for additionally shortening the overall measurement time.
