The processor can obtain a mobility management entity topology that defines boundaries of two or more mobile management entity pools and identify, based on the location data, one of the mobility management entity pools in which the virtual mobility management entity is located. The processor can identify pool elements included in the mobility management entity pool, obtain a workflow for establishing and configuring the pool elements, and request establishment of signaling between the virtual mobile management entity and the pool elements.

    Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to an auto-scaling software-defined monitoring (“SDM”) platform for software-defined networking (“SDN”) service assurance. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, an SDM controller can monitor event data associated with a network even that occurred within a virtualized IP SDN network that is monitored by a virtualized SDM resources platform. The SDM controller can measure, based upon the event data, a quality of service (“QoS”) performance metric associated with the virtualized SDM resource platform. The SDN controller can determine, based upon the QoS performance metric, whether an auto-scaling operation is to be performed. The auto-scaling operation can include reconfiguring the virtualized SDM resources platform by adding virtual machine capacity for supporting event management tasks either by instantiating a new virtual machine or by migrating an existing virtual machine to a new hardware host.

In particular, the system may include identifying and authenticating a user through biometric data or movement signatures specific to the wearer of a wearable device. Once the user and wearable device are authenticated, the system may activate and provision connectivity services for the wearable device, associate the device with a device ecosystem of the user, and push predefined settings to the wearable device. Additionally, the system may deliver communications that are transmitted to other devices in the device ecosystem to the wearable device while the wearable device is worn by the user. If the user no longer wears the wearable device or the wearable device is not utilized for a period of time, the system may deactivate the connectivity services for the wearable device and remove any settings pushed to the wearable device.

    Abstract: Architecture that allows a user to control the way a connection is made to a destination. A destination can be tagged with an attribute that defines how the connection to that destination should be routed. For example, a phone address book allows the user not only to enter the usual call recipient information such as name and telephone number, but also to add an attribute in the form of a network identifier associated with a network that should be used when connecting to the destination. Where multiple networks are associated with the destination, the phone subsystem, recognizing that the destination now has multiple network IDs for connecting the call, can prompt the user to select the desired network pathway. The user can also tag the destination with a protocol that should be employed. Thus, not only will the phone be connected according to the network, but according to the protocol.

An SDN controller receives, from an ad-hoc radio access controller serving an ad-hoc radio access network (“RAN”), an attach request sent on behalf of a user equipment (“UE”) operating in communication with an ad-hoc RAT transceiver node. The attach request includes a physical IP address associated with the UE. The physical IP address includes an IP address sub-interface pre-fix broadcast to the UE by the ad-hoc RAT transceiver node combined with a physical address of the UE. In response to the attach request, the SDN controller can complete an attachment procedure for allowing the ad-hoc radio access controller to an SDN network. The SDN controller also can update one or more components operating within the SDN network to reflect how to reach the UE via the physical IP address.
