  • Publication number: 20180197558
Abstract: A system for providing an acoustic environment recognizer for optimal speech processing is disclosed. In particular, the system may utilize metadata obtained from various acoustic environments to assist in suppressing ambient noise interfering with a desired audio signal. In order to do so, the system may receive an audio stream including an audio signal associated with a user and including ambient noise obtained from an acoustic environment of the user. The system may obtain first metadata associated with the ambient noise, and may determine if the first metadata corresponds to second metadata in a profile for the acoustic environment. If the first metadata corresponds to the second metadata, the system may select a processing scheme for suppressing the ambient noise from the audio stream, and process the audio stream using the processing scheme. Once the audio stream is processed, the system may provide the audio stream to a destination.

Abstract: A cloud based mobile internet protocol messaging spam defense. Short message service (SMS) messages are analyzed by a cloud based virtual machine to determine if should be considered potentially unwanted messages (e.g., spam). The cloud based virtual machine uses a user specific algorithm for determining if a message should be considered to be a potentially unwanted message. Messages that are determined to be potentially unwanted messages trigger a notification to be sent to a user device associated with the virtual machine. The notification requests confirmation from the user that the potentially unwanted message is an unwanted message. The user's response to a request for confirmation is then used to update an unwanted message database associated with the user and the user device.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to the optimization of over-the-air (“OTA”) file distribution for connected cars based upon a heuristic scheduling algorithm. A schedule provided by the heuristic scheduling algorithm is designed to distribute OTA data flow to connected cars over the network (geographically) and over a scheduling time horizon (timely), and is capable to reducing the negative impact of OTA file updates on overall wireless network performance. This schedule is created based upon historical statistics associated with connected car driving patterns and simulations of connected car-specific OTA traffic over the network. By leveraging connected cars that connect to different cells at different times based upon driving patterns, the heuristic scheduling algorithm is effective in reducing OTA impact on the network.

Abstract: An ultrasonic source controlled by a controller to cause the ultrasonic source to emit one or more sound pulses in a direction of a surface in order to obtain one or more reflected sound pulses that are used to determine one or more properties of the surface. The ultrasonic source receives one or more control signals based on the one or more properties of the surface that are determined. Further, the ultrasonic source emits one or more ultrasonic sound waves in the direction of the surface based upon the one or more control signals. The one or more ultrasonic sound waves exert a force which causes visible particles within a region proximate the surface to move to achieve a desired appearance with respect to the surface.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to application-based multiple radio access technologies (“RAT”) and platform control using software-defined networking (“SDN”). According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, an SDN controller can configure a radio access network (“RAN”) for connectionless services and for connection-oriented services. The RAN can support multiple RATs each capable of providing radio access to a device, such as a UE or an IoT device. The SDN controller can determine a user plane path configuration for an application flow through at least part of the RAN. The SDN controller can provide the user plane configuration to an SDN agent that is stored on and is executable by the device.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to vehicle-to-everything (“V2X”) certificate management. According to one aspect of the concepts and technologies disclosed herein, a system can receive a CRL from a security credential management (“SCM”) system. The CRL can identify one or more certificates that have been determined to be invalid, such as when the certificate(s) has expired. The certificate(s) can be utilized by a vehicle for secure communications, including vehicle-to-vehicle (“V2V”) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (“V2I”) (collectively V2X). The system can format the CRL as a cell broadcast message. The system can then create a cell broadcast request directed to a cell broadcast center (“CBC”). The cell broadcast request can include the CRL formatted as the cell broadcast message. The system can send the cell broadcast request to the CBC to instruct the CBC to broadcast the CRL as the cell broadcast message.

Abstract: A disclosed service for managing mobile and wireless communication devices (MWCDs) includes enabling a server to generate a standard remote configuration command (RCC) and enabling a transmitter coupled to the server to transmit the RCC wirelessly. The RCC configures a feature on a first MWCD of a first supplier and a second MWCD of a second supplier. The RCC may disable one or more of a set of selected MWCD peripheral devices. For example, the RCC may disable an MWCD camera, an MWCD microphone, and/or an MWCD speaker. In some embodiments, the RCC transitions the MWCD to a restricted state in which the MWCD is unable to record multimedia content including audio and video content. In these embodiments, the RCC may configure one or more of the features on each of a set of MWCDs within a defined geographic region.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to data-driven feedback control systems for an acceptable level of real-time application transaction completion rate in virtualized networks, while maximizing virtualized server utilization. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a network virtualization platform (“NVP”) includes a plurality of hardware resources, a virtual machine (“VM”), and a virtual machine monitor (“VMM”). The VMM can track an execution state of each of a plurality of applications associated with the VM. The VMM can measure a real-time application transaction completion rate of the VM. The VMM can determine whether a trigger condition exists for priority scheduling of real-time applications based upon the real-time application transaction completion rate and a pre-set threshold value.
