Abstract: Authenticating the location of a viewing device for receiving content includes storing a plurality of connection identifiers in a database, the connection identifiers being associated with a plurality of networking devices and a plurality of user accounts. A viewing device sends a request to access content which is received by a server. The request is associated with a user account. One or more first connection identifiers is selected from the database based on the user account to which the request is associated. A second connection identifier is obtained based on a connection between the viewing device and the server. It is determined if the second connection identifier matches one of the one or more first connection identifiers. Content is provided to the viewing device if the second connection identifier matches one of the one or more of the first connection identifiers.

Abstract: An method of operating a video production device receives a plurality of video input streams from a plurality of different video capture devices, and selects one of the video input streams as a current video output stream. In response to the selection, the method determines a prioritization scheme for the plurality of video input streams, generates video format instructions for each of the plurality of different video capture devices, in accordance with the determined prioritization scheme; and sends the video format instructions from the video production device to the plurality of different video capture devices. The video format instructions are configurable to be executed by the video capture devices to confirm or adjust at least one video quality setting of the video input streams, such that the current video output stream is of higher quality relative to unselected video input streams of the plurality of video input streams.

The monitoring device receives the one or more transport streams from a service provider system and de-encapsulates the one or more packetized elementary streams from the one or more transport streams. The monitoring device determines the one or more characteristics of the one or more scheduled programs from the one or more packetized elementary streams. The one or more characteristics can be used by the monitoring device to adapt on a dynamic, real-time, or near real-time, basis to changes to the one or more transport streams.

Abstract: A signal processing device includes an input interface, an image processor, an audio processor, and a controller. The input interface receives signals of a video and an audio acquired concurrently in a space where subjects exist. The image processor recognizes subject images in the video, to determine a first type of area where each subject exists. The audio processor recognizes sound sources in the audio, to determine a second type of area where each sound source exists in the space, independently of the first type of area. The controller uses the first and second types of areas to judge coincidence or non-coincidence between a position of the each subject and a position of the each sound source, to determine a combination of a subject and a sound source whose positions coincide with each other. The controller selectively determines the subject image to be output that corresponds to the combination.

Abstract: Techniques are provided herein for modifying content playback between user devices (e.g., moving the content playback from one device to another). State information may be obtained by a content management engine, the state information describing aspects of historical content streaming corresponding to a plurality of user devices associated with a user profile. A streaming request can be received from a user device. The content to be streamed can be selected by the content management engine based at least in part on the state information. In some embodiments, the playback device is also selected based on the state information. A streaming request is transmitted from the content management engine to a service provider to effectuate the content being streamed to the selected playback device. These techniques enable a user to push or pull content to or from one device to another.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for generating a playlist for a simultaneous presentation of a plurality of media assets. The system retrieves a user preference associated with a user profile and receives a selection of a first media asset and a second media asset from the plurality of media assets for presentation on a user device. The system parses the respective audio streams of the first media asset and the second media asset to identify one or more preferred audio segments based on the user preference and generates the playlist of the identified one or more preferred audio segments. Based on a generated audio playlist, the system generates, for presentation on the user device, the video stream for each of the first media asset and the second media asset and the playlist of the identified one or more preferred audio segments.

Abstract: Systems and processes that incorporate teachings of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a request for a streaming video application service from a mobile device and, responsive to determining a relationship between a service provider of a wireless access point and a service provider of a cellular network providing the streaming video application service via the cellular services. Responsive to determining that the wireless access point is in a communication range of the mobile device based on a proximity of the wireless access point to the mobile device, a communication session is initiated between the mobile device and the wireless access point. Delivery of the streaming video application service to the mobile device is switched from over the cellular network to over the wireless access point. Other embodiments are disclosed.
