  • Patent number: 11806036
Abstract: A tissue resecting device includes an end effector assembly including a proximal hub housing and a cutting member extending distally from the proximal hub housing, and a handpiece assembly. The handpiece assembly includes a handle housing, a drive casing extending distally from the handle housing, a drive rotor extending through and distally from the drive casing, and a seal ring disposed about the drive rotor. In an at-rest position, the seal ring is sealingly engaged between the drive casing and the drive rotor to inhibit fluid ingress into the annular space. Upon engagement of the end effector assembly with the handpiece assembly, a portion of the proximal hub housing is configured to urge the seal ring from the at-rest position to a displaced position wherein the seal ring is displaced from the drive rotor to reduce friction therebetween upon rotation of the drive rotor relative to the drive casing.

  • Patent number: 11786236
Abstract: A method of coupling a first portion of an anatomy to a second portion of the anatomy includes coupling first and second bones of the anatomy with a bone-tendon-bone implant. The bone-tendon-bone implant has a first bone end, a second bone end and a replacement tendon between the first and second bone ends. The first and second bone ends are positioned in corresponding first and second bores of the first and second bones. The first bone end is secured to the first bone with a first bone anchor. A second anchor coupled to the bone-tendon-bone implant is passed through and outside the second bore. The second anchor is coupled to an adjustable suture construct having two adjustable suture loops. Tensioning at least one of first and second ends of the adjustable suture construct tensions the replacement tendon and positions the first bone relative to the second bone.

  • Patent number: 11759189
Abstract: A biodegradable scaffold for wound closure including a central rod and two spaced-apart plates. The central rod may have an engagement block on top for stabilizing an implanting tool. The two spaced-apart plates include an upper plate connected to the central rod and a lower plate connected to the central rod. Each of the upper and lower plates may include perforations which may be useful for detachably connecting an implanting tool and which encourage ingrowth of the tissue. The biodegradable scaffold allows tension free anatomic alignment of tissue within the plates and facilitates wound healing. The upper and lower plate may have a helical portion, in which each plate may extend around the central rod. The helical portion serves to draw or pull tissue around the wound defect into the scaffold in the course of deploying the scaffold.

  • Patent number: 11744573
Abstract: A system is transluminally advanced into the heart of a subject. A first portion of the system is positioned through a native valve of the heart, the system including wires disposed at the first portion. The first portion is stabilized at the native valve by positioning a distal portion of the system within a blood vessel of the subject. While the distal portion of the system remains within the blood vessel, the wires are induced to bow laterally such that the wires press against the native valve. While the wires remain pressed against the native valve, the shape of the wires is radiographically imaged. An anchor is transluminally anchored to tissue of the native valve, facilitated by the imaging. Other embodiments are also described.

  • Patent number: 11737756
Abstract: An implantable tissue connector comprises a conduit and at least one bulge extending outwardly from the conduit's outer surface in a circumferential direction. At least one blocking ring loosely fitting over the outer surface with a clearance between the outer surface and the blocking ring is provided for mounting tubular living tissue within the clearance. The blocking ring has an inner diameter which is sized relative to an outer diameter of the bulge to prevent the blocking ring from slipping over the bulge when living tissue is mounted within the clearance. During implantation, the conduit is inserted into the tubular part of living tissue and over the bulge. Then, the blocking ring is pushed over the free end of the living tissue against the bulge. The living tissue is secured to the conduit with a self-enhancing effect when the tissue tends to be pulled off of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 11723649
Abstract: A suture implant for approximating tissue without tying knots includes a suture having a first end with a fixed knot, a second end, and a slip knot located between the first and second ends, which defines a large suture loop having a length. The slip knot defines a dynamic end of the large suture loop that is located opposite a closed end of the large suture loop. A tissue anchor is coupled with the first end of the suture. Pulling the second end of the large suture loop away from the slip knot slides the slip knot and the tissue anchor toward the closed end of the large suture loop and reduces the length of the large suture loop. The suture implant includes a needle having a leading end and a trailing end and a small suture loop secured to the trailing end of the needle that is coupled with the closed end of the large suture loop.
