  • Patent number: 12134304
Abstract: An air-treatment system for a motor vehicle having an air conditioner, the system has an electrically powered air-treatment device in the air conditioner that treats air of an airflow generated by the air conditioner, a controller in the air conditioner that controls the air-treatment device in accordance with operating parameters of the air conditioner in which the air-treatment device is installed, and an electrical coder in the air-treatment device for identifying characteristics of the air-treatment device, that is electrically connectable with the controller on installation of the air-treatment device, and that is interogable after electrical connection to the controller has been established. This coder serves for detecting when the electrical coding means is electrically connected to the controller and for disconnecting electric power feed to the air-treatment device in the absence of an electrical connection between the coder and the controller.

  • Patent number: 12128738
Abstract: A cabin air extraction assembly for a vehicle that utilizes an air extractor input port disposed in the rear portion of the cabin of a vehicle that conduits cabin air to a snorkel assembly disposed within a sealed or substantially sealed body panel or side structure near the rear wheel well of the vehicle, for example. This snorkel assembly includes a one-way pressure relief valve. Because the snorkel assembly is positioned such that it is not prone to obstruction or the intake of water in a wading application, there is no risk of water intrusion into the cabin of the vehicle, even if the bottom portion of the snorkel assembly is disposed below the wading line during vehicle operation. Thus, the cabin air extraction assembly and associated method promote passenger comfort by allowing the HVAC system of a vehicle to be operated using fresh, outside air without cabin pressure problems, even during a wading application.

  • Patent number: 12103364
Abstract: An air discharge device includes a duct that defines a flow passage through which a working air flow to be discharged passes, and a hole forming member defining an air discharge hole as an outlet of the working air flow. The hole forming member has a vortex generation structure configured to generate an auxiliary vortex having a vortex characteristic including a vortex rotation direction and a vortex axis direction. The vortex characteristic of the auxiliary vortex is different from that of a lateral vortex generated by the working air flow at a downstream side of the air discharge hole. The vortex generation structure is configured in the hole forming member so that the auxiliary vortex collides with the lateral vortex in a state where at least one of the vortex rotation direction and the vortex axial direction of the vortex characteristic is different from that of the lateral vortex.

  • Patent number: 12085309
Abstract: A tapered flexible conduit and a ventilation system incorporating the same. The conduit is arranged to extend between a register and a fan assembly, such as in a whole house fan (WHF) system. The conduit includes a flexible inner liner surrounded by a flexible outer liner. The flexible inner liner has a length of helically formed wire coupled to a flexible membrane. The flexible outer liner includes an insulative layer to provide acoustic baffling for an airflow established by the fan assembly passing through the conduit. The tapered conduit has a frusto-conical shape along an overall length of the conduit to sealingly engage differently sized inlet and exhaust ports of the register and the fan assembly, respectively. The collapsible nature of the respective inner and outer liners reduces bulk during shipment and accommodates a variety of different configurations during installation.

  • Patent number: 12041757
Abstract: A modular datacenter facility and a method thereof is provided in accordance with some embodiments. The module datacenter facility can be constructed with an initial set of building modules of different types of functionality. A first building module can be a data-floor building module. A first set of sidewall-connected heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (“HVAC”) units can connect to a sidewall of the modular datacenter facility and use electrical power provided by a first electrical power distribution building module to supply conditioned air into an air-supply plenum of the sidewall to cool computing systems housed in the data-floor building module. The first set of the sidewall-connected HVAC units allow for fewer penetrations in a roof of the data-floor building module, thereby minimizing an amount of leaks potentially occurring in the roof of the ceiling, and thereby minimizing risk of any damage to the computing systems.

  • Patent number: 12031744
Abstract: An upblast rain cap may have an inverted bottom cone joined to a top cap. The wall of the bottom cone is at an angle of less than 45 degrees with respect to a vertical axis. The joined cone and cap are held above a lower support coupler by a spar. The height of the bottom cone above the support coupler forms a side discharge area. The coupler attaches to the top of a vertical conveyance pipe through which exhaust air flows. A gutter is formed around the edge of the top cap. The gutter has a vertical opening that is aligned with the top of the spar. When rain falls, water flows over the top cap to the gutter, through the opening in the gutter, down the outside edge of the spar and down the outside of the support coupler.
